Comments about Celestron Celestron 10 x 50 Ultima DX, Water Proof Porro Prism Binocular with 6.5 Degree Angle of View, U.S.A.:

Well made binoculars. Center focus wheel and right diopter holds focus and is easy to use. Eye relief good. Stars are sharp nearly to the edge of the field of view. Wide field. Crater and seas on Moon also sharp and with good color. Moons of Jupiter easily seen. Tripod adaptable makes them even better. Better than 7 x 50 binoculars for city observing since your pupils do not fully dialate due to light pollution. Due to their weight and magnification probably the limit for hand-held binoculars, but work just fine for me. [...]

Comments about Celestron Celestron 10 x 50 Ultima DX, Water Proof Porro Prism Binocular with 6.5 Degree Angle of View, U.S.A.:

This is my second binoc in the Ultima line. I actually like the handling better than the 8x32. My hands can grab the barrels for a better feel. Eye relief is good for eyeglasses and the focus is more than adequate. The optics are wonderful, bright and clear. The binoc is heavy, but the extra weight actually helps steady the hands, given the 10x magnification. The twist up eyecups work well and field of view is good for a 10X. The neck strap is not the best...best to go and get a thicker neoprene one for a binoc of this weight for prolonged carry in the field. After comparing the two (8x32 and 10x50) side by side, I like the 10x50 better. The 8x32 is still to heavy and awkward for that type of binoc.
