I am pleased with these binoculars. I am a police officer and I use them for patrol where they have performed very well. They allow me to read license plates much easier than traditional binoculars. The amount of detail you can descern is amazing. The only down side is when the IS is activated, it can take a second to stablize and come back into focus. I have found that it is best to first focus them, then activate the IS. As a side note, I used to work in an optics shop. When comparing the $1000+ Zeiss and Leicas to the much cheaper Canons, it was amazing. Without a doubt, the Zeiss and Leicas have better optics, but the Canons showed much finer detail because of the IS. Sure, both Zeiss and Leica both offer IS binoculars, but they are very pricy (In excess of $2,500).

Compact binoculars for traveling with an electric stabilizer that hopefully will be of benefit on a ship.

After trying and buying many binoculars over the years, I finally got the right stuff. These are really sharp edge to edge with low distortion and superior lens coating, and the I.S. is really good. 10 power binoculars are basically useless without this feature - very irritating and shaky - but with it it's like gazing across the room. They are a constant companion in my car.
Of course they are a bit on the large side, but they make up for it many times over.

I used it for theater or stadium. The performance of the CANON 10x30 is great when push down the IS button. The view is clear and steady to make you more easy to focus on the dancer or singer and clearly distinguish his/her face. The angle of view is enough for a stage show. And it is easy to hold.
Considering the price, there is no doubt that CANON 10X30 IS is the best buy in the CANON IS series.

Even without the image stabalization these are some of the sharpest binoculars I've ever used. I've tried some of the top names that cost 3-4 times more than these and they are no better. Add in the image stabalization and these can't be beat.

I love these binoculars. It brings even the smallest birds in close and the image stabilization works great. Sometimes it takes a little while to identify a species and these glasses can reach out and get them. A friend of my had them and after using his I had to have them.

Excellent results in all applications. Image stabiliser is a real plus for anyone whose hands are a little shaky especially in identifying birds that are normally difficult to locate.
Battery life is excellent. We haven't replaced the batteries since purchase.

I purchased my first Canon 10 x 30 IS Image Stabilized binoculars for a trip to Africa. The guide and guests all wanted to borrow it constantantly. It was easy to use and provided wonderfully stable vision over bumpy bush roads.
I purchased the second Canon for my son's 30th birthday. He had enjoyed using mine -was thrilled to have his own.

We have had our Canon 10 x 30 IS binoculars for over six years and they are our constant companion on trips and when sailing. The image stabiliser works very well and the batteries rarely need changing. Whenever we don't have them with us on a short hike, we always regret not bringing them along. What a great find!
