Comments about Celestron Celestron 25 x 100 SkyMaster, Weather Resistant Porro Prism Binocular with 3.0 Degree Angle of View, U.S.A.:

I bought these for my son instead of a first telescope, and I'm glad I did! Collimation out of the box was perfect. Great views of the moon, as well as Jupiter and Saturn. Great for open clusters, ok on the brighter globulars. FOV is a bit narrow and they are heavy. Orion XHD tripod with binocular mount barely handles them, but remember they are 100mm binos. I also got a set of solar filters which work nicely with these binocs. Excellent for the money!

Comments about Celestron Celestron 25 x 100 SkyMaster, Weather Resistant Porro Prism Binocular with 3.0 Degree Angle of View, U.S.A.:

These binoculars show great detail, but require a tri-pod and work best for stationary objects. The moon viewed through them is absolutely awesome. I have had trouble seeing much detail of planets or star clusters. However, I have not had them out yet in a non-light polluted area.

I've enjoyed hours observing star clusters; nebulae; and the moon with my skymasters. I mounted them on an Orion heavy duty tripod which is a must for these big binos.

Comments about Celestron Celestron 25 x 100 SkyMaster, Weather Resistant Porro Prism Binocular with 3.0 Degree Angle of View, U.S.A.:

Arrived well packed both from manufacturer and seller. Nice storage case. The optics are of excellent quality, especially for the price. Construction is solid as it basically has to be.

It really is heavy. Too much for most of my tripods and even my heavy duty one barely handles it. The great view makes up for a lot of the handling problems tho.

Comments about Celestron Celestron 25 x 100 SkyMaster, Weather Resistant Porro Prism Binocular with 3.0 Degree Angle of View, U.S.A.:

Simply put, any 25x100 affords the astronomer a unique fov not capable in single lens scopes. It truely is like using two single scopes for each eye. Exceptional planetary views and incredible dept of our moons lunar surface. During dark clear nights, these giants reveal many objects otherwise unseen throughout our milkyway. All binocular targets displayed in my charts are easily observed through these giants but you need a steady tripod for panning and suppporting these 10lbers. For the money?..well, my eyeglasses cost 100 dollars more than these and all i can say is i feel i got my moneys worth! These are built using a hell of alot more materials ,backed by incredible engineering and even backed by a limited lifetime warranty for just over a few hundred dollars! can not go wrong.

Comments about Celestron Celestron 25 x 100 SkyMaster, Weather Resistant Porro Prism Binocular with 3.0 Degree Angle of View, U.S.A.:

Field of View per Manufacturer is 3.0 degrees, BUT based on actual observation of star fields and comparison with detailed star atlas, the field is really about 2.3 degrees, certainly less than 2.5 degrees.
