Battery life is horrible. I first tried on the way to Alaska on my motorcycle and the batteries wouldn't last half a day. After the second set I gave up. It is a pain to sync os well.
Save your money and try something else.

Only thing in this price range that could do the job. I used it with Downloader Pro and Lightroom to get the gps and altitude data into a xmp sidecar with my RAW files. This did the job at a fraction of the price of the Canon addon, and unlike that, this is available from adorama!

The tracks are interesting and accurate. Not hard to use. [...]On a recent trip - only my third using it - it just stopped. I tested it with the USB cable and it works fine there and downloaded the track of that trip before it stopped. New battery didn't fix it. [...] It's now an expensive paperweight. In warranty. Hoping for response from Gisteq.

software crashes all the time. log files gets wiped out so you need to constantly back it up by making a copy. don't know why the engineers didn't create auto backup. not reliable. hit or miss. good idea, poor implementation. interface not user friendly nor intuitive. needs a lot of work. not ready for prime time.

Comments about GiSTEQ GiSTEQ GPS Digital PhotoTrackr Lite, for Digital Cameras with Software "MAC COMPATIBLE":
The reception of this tracker is really superior. I keep it in the back of my station wagon, and it still tracks. My old Garmin eMap would give up in the same conditions. So it is nicely doing the job I bought it for. However, if you buy this product, be prepared to use alternative methods to keep the battery door closed. The design of the door is so poor that I would use it as an example of how NOT to design it. The design is far too complicated and relies on precision while closing the door. To close it, you have to push it down against the force of a spring, aligned it PRECISELY with the body and the push it over the battery contact (can it be more complicated ?). If you don't keep it perfectly aligned, you are going to break the latches, since the material of the body and the door has too little strength. So it's not a matter of if, just a matter of when it breaks. Mine broke after replacing the battery about 15 times. Now I am using the strap from my eMap to keep it closed; works nicely. No comment about the software, I am only using it to download the track, then I am processing the images with my own software anyways. But I hated that the activation failed at first and I had to bother the technical support of Gisteq to get it running.
