Comments about Zeiss Zeiss 5 x 10 T* MiniQuick Monocular - Gray Finish with Pocket Clip:
A unique item, useful for urban navigation walking or driving - check street signs one block away, addresses, details just out of visual range. Image very sharp when in focus. Narrow field, small objective and low power makes it not at all competitive in view quality and ease of use for casual viewing, theater, birding, with even mini binoculars. 13-foot minimum focus barely close enough to be useful to read museum and gallery information panels in a crowded exhibit, but better than I expected. (Because I am quite nearsighted, I can use without glasses up to about 7 feet.) Lightest and most compact device available for these limited purposes, but a lanyard ring would be more useful to me than the pocket clip and would not interfere with focusing. Focus takes time and dexterity - lots of turning of cylinder under pocket clip to go between infinity and close focus. Magnifier function not useful - extremely close working distance (less than 1/4 inch) shades subject, inverted image and low power (seems less than 5x). Get a small folding magnifier or the Pentax monocular with microscope attachment if you have magnifier or low-power microscope application.
