Comments about Nikon Nikon DK17A, Anti Fog Eyepiece for D3, D2H, D2X, D2Xs & F-6 SLR Cameras:

I am a pro-photographer that needs to change things in the field quickly. Although quite functional, this item just can't stand the challenges of field work. Trying to dry, clean, etc this piece without scratching or wearing the anti-fog coating off is impossible. Save your money and get something else in the DK series or go for the DM Series. It is high quality hardend glass.

Get the DK17C +0 Eyepiece instead!!!

Comments about Nikon Nikon DK17A, Anti Fog Eyepiece for D3, D2H, D2X, D2Xs & F-6 SLR Cameras:

Get the multicoated Nikon DK17C +0 eyepiece to protect your viewfinder instead, it's cheaper and better quality.

The DK17a eyepiece's anti-fog function is executed through a thin coating on the plastic eyepiece. In the manual Nikon forbids you to clean the eyepiece if it get's dirty or greasy.

What if you must clean the eyepiece? Well the anti-fogging coating would wear off and the plastic would scratch very easily... Doh, why buy an eye piece where you can't even clean it regularly?

Not recommended.
