the Label is sightly misleading, 24MM LED display, Where? What LED? Its a expensive - for what it is, but then good optics are. It is bright to view thru and easy to use, slide on the hot shoe and go. pay close attention to the flyer it comes with on HOW TO USE it,if you are using wide mode shoot it, change wide to zoom and eyeball the indicators in the view finder allow you to choose the field of view for wide or Tele but not inbetween. Be careful you could be chopping off the top of a head if you are not aware what mode you are in - it does have physical indicators in the view finder that let you guage the field of view at the extremes 24mm or 60mm, but this takes some patience and time to get used to. But once all of the is taken into account it works very well, Compact, well designed part of a good camera system,saves battery use too.

Wildly expensive and of limited use.
It's hard to think of any justification for buying a product so simple at this price point. If the zoom setting had been marked, things would have been different but all you get is the widest angle marked and 35mm.
With the DLux 4 you don't know when you've zoomed to 35mm.
Leica have failed to make the product match the camera

I am somewhat disappointed with Leica that they praise and tout the 24mm Viewfinder and then do not offer a fine leather case for same and camera.
For me, removing the Viewfinder every time is not an option, besides the unit actually does not fit tightly onto the shoe. I solved that by adding some clear-tape to the bottom of the finder to make it stay more securely.
I also feel for the money it is not worth it, but being a Leica snob it looks nice on the D-LUX 4 Camera.

Great Viewfinder. It makes the Leica D-Lux 4 really look and feel like a rangefinder camera. Gives the camera a nostalgic look. A bright and clear view inside and the frame lines are crisp. Combine this viewfinder with the Leica D-Lux 4 grip and you have a nice handling package.
