This is a good solid product with all the bells and whistles that the more expensive models have.Great for the nature/wild life photographer that wants extended shooting time without changing batteries.

Comments about Adorama Flashpoint Professional Vertical Camera Grip for the Nikon D-200 Digitl SLR Camera & battery holder:
This is a most failure product that I have purchaged from Adorama.
I have used 2 ENEl3 batteries, and the LCD of the Camera shows empty after taking 70 to 100 shots, but if I use the same used battery in my D200 without this battery grip it shows full charge at Camera LCD. Though it comes with AA batteries case, and I have tried to use it after selecting the battery choice from my D200 but I never able to run my D200 using 6 X AA batteries.
I will strongly discurrage people to buy this product as well as request ADORAMA not to sell this kind of 3rd graded product from their site, after all it is a question of goodwill.

Comments about Adorama Flashpoint Professional Vertical Camera Grip for the Nikon D-200 Digitl SLR Camera & battery holder:
I bought my grips on 11/16/08 and was happy to buy it at such a ggod price, it went on easy and I installed the batteries. Things looked good and felt better than not having a grip plus got more battery power. I started having issues with my lcd screen turning off and not being able to view my photos, another time the whole camera turned off and I had to remove the grip and take it off; another time I tried using it with the AA adapter and it stopped working again not working. I do weddings and parties and all together it happend 5 or 6 times, its embarresing to have this issues and finally today after playing with some of my srobe features my grip burnt out. The flash fired once and everything turned off and the grip smelled like it burnt from inside. I removed it and my camera works well. This is why I am here to warn many others ; I will call Adorama but after reading that I am not alone I dont want an exchange witch I doubt I get it but I will rather buy a more expensive one and hopefully they can give me credit after returning what I originally bought.

Comments about Adorama Flashpoint Professional Vertical Camera Grip for the Nikon D-200 Digitl SLR Camera & battery holder:
BEWARE
It's a good grip especially when you have a long lens on the camera, however, I found an issue that scared the heck out of me, when I was shooting at an air force show, what you are about to read happened to two cameras on the same day at around the same time.
As I was shooting, on one of two cameras, (both D200) all information thru the view finder went blank! I turned off the power and tuned it back on, I can see everything thru the view finder, I try to take another shot and it went blank again, finally I remove the grip and used a battery on the on the camera itself, everything was working fine, so I thought that the grip had a problem, so I put the grip away and just shoot without it.
As I am going about the air show, now on the second camera the mirror was locking up! An (err) sign came up, what the heck is going on? By this time the show is just about to end and so that I would not look like a fool messing around with the camera, letting others know that I have problems I just used the one that I was working with no grip.
To make this long story short, the problem was not the cameras, the power was low on the batteries and the grips do not change from one battery to the other! So if this happens to you be not concerned, just take the battery that is low and you should be back to work. It's a pain on the rear, but, that's why I paid $100.00 less on the grip. If I had not wanted any hassles I would have spend the $170.00, I knew that I was going to run into something.for the cost of it, knew nothing would be trouble free.

Comments about Adorama Flashpoint Professional Vertical Camera Grip for the Nikon D-200 Digitl SLR Camera & battery holder:
I purchased this product for better battery life, as I was planning to use my d200 to photograph a wedding. Luckily I took it out for a spin before the wedding day, because I certainly got more than I bargained for. The first 25 to 50 shots went well, but after that I would begin recieving error messages on my screen about every third or fourth shot, and I would have to press the shutter multiple times for the camera to come back to functionality. This happened especially when I took multiple shots quickly. I found that whenever this error message read, that shot (and any of that burst of shots) were not saved to the memory card. I thought this was a memory card malfunction. It was not.
The next day, the second shot I took with my d200 froze the camera completely. The on/off switch would not turn it off. It just displayed an error message.
After removing the battery grip and finally reviving my camera I tried everything (yes, everything) to get this battery grip to work properly, but time and time again it freezes my camera.
Needless to say, I will be seeking a refund when Adorama reopens from it's holiday break.

Comments about Adorama Flashpoint Professional Vertical Camera Grip for the Nikon D-200 Digitl SLR Camera & battery holder:
This is a very good grip especially considering that it is less than half the price of the Nikon brand grip. [...] The grip was actually made by Mieke (company in China) and does not have the useless LCD clock/timer. This grip appears to be identical to the original Nikon D200 grip in every way... minus the $150. price tag.

It is a great grip, it does not have the tough feel of my D200 but works great. It was worth the savings over the Nikon product.

Comments about Adorama Flashpoint Professional Vertical Camera Grip for the Nikon D-200 Digitl SLR Camera & battery holder:
I purchased this unit when the white plastic tab on my MB-D200 was broken thinking the addition of the LCD on the back, and the fact that it saved me $20 from buying a new MBD200. I would have kept it, but the way the battery door opens (on the end, like the D300) forces me to remove my L-Bracket every time I want to access the battery doors. Even though this camera is relegated to Studio shooting & a backup to my other cam's now, I didn't want to monkey around with this. I took a peak at the directions to set up the LCD and actually use it, but wasn't impressed. The unit went right back in the box and was returned. Quality was OK, fit & finish was OK, and usability was OK, though the shutter release on the grip felt a bit spongy. Also didn't care for the power management: with the On-Off switch, there were essentially 2 switches you need to turn on to use the camera, making it slower to fire on and use quickly. Other than that, it was a decent product worth the price.
