This product has given me hours upon hours of use out of my Canon. The grip is great if your headed out on long trips and you know exactly what lens you want with you. Beware, it does increase the weight of your camera by a lot.

The BG-E3 makes the Rebel large enough and very comfortable for me to hold. I really like the additional controls and with the grip, the camera feels the same shooting horizontal or vertical.

I read the user comments for the other XTi battery grips and decided on the OEM Canon product. It arrived sooner than I thought, it attached easier than I thought, it fit better in my hand than I thought. The controls on the battery grip are in a better position for me than the original camera controls.

Since most of my work is hand-held, the added height and the flat base allow me to prop my camera on various objects to steady my shots.

Another plus no one mentions - it addition to the OEM and AA batteries, the grip can be used with an optional a/c power supply. That must be great for studio work!

One downside - I have to buy a new camera bag: my XTi with the Grip attached and the accesories I have is too big for my old bag. But guess what? The grip stays on and the old bag gets the heave ho!

Installation is extremely easy and access to the batteries couldn't be easier. The battery life compared to a single Canon battery is amazing (even with third party batteries that have less capacity than the Canon's). I shot for 4 days straight with a variety of lenses and took roughly 4000 pictures. By the end of those 4 days my camera was still showing 1/2 battery life.

This battery grip doubles the battery life (with 2 batteries installed of course) and makes taking vertical shots a breeze. It also gives the XTi, for which it was bought, the heft of a pro-level camera. Altho Adorama lists it for the XT, it fits and works with the XTi perfectly. The only down side is that it increases the height of the XTi by about 1 and 3/4 inches, so you must be careful to also buy a camera back-pack that says it will hold a camera with battery grip attached.

At first, I thought it might be too bulky as a permanent "add on," but I was pleasantly surprised. Even with my 300mm lens attached, I did not find it cumbersome at all. The grip is great and taking vertical photos is a breeze. So far, I haven't had any problems at all.

i absolutely love this grip. the material its made from, in my opinion, is better than the grip that comes with the camera itself. it feel natural in my hand. the vertical shutter release is a godsend and the prolonged battery life is amazing... i cant say anything bad about this product.

it's great for people with lage hands. I found the Canon rebel to be too small for my confort. After having it on my hand for some time, my hand would hurt. The grip aded the much needed extra grip to the camera. The vertical controls are awesome for people, like me, that like to take lots of vertical pictures. Also the extra battery gives you lots of power for a continous shoting. It comes with a regular AA battery adapter, so if you run out of power, you clould run to the near store and get alkalines instead of waiting for your battery packs to charge.

If you don't like to change the batteries in your camera...this is the product for you. It doubles the number of shots taken by your equipment. I can go through the night without changing batteries. Plus the extra weight balances the camera well.

I love this thing - I went on a week long trip and didn't have to change the batteries until my trip was almost over (2500 pictures). Plus, the ability to use regular AAs saved me when I left my canon charger in Alaska. The only down side is that the grip isn't as comfortable as it could be with my hand strap attached in the tripod mount and it gets worse if I add the quick-lock for my tripod.

I have in the past owned the battery grip made by "Opteka" which they claim that they use the same mold as Canon for their batter grips for the XT/Xti. I bought it because it was quite a bit cheaper than the Canon version, and included two batteries. Boy was that a mistake! The Opteka grip fit loosely to the camera, most of the buttons did not work, and after several months it started shorting out while shooting vertically.

Because of this experience I decided to spend the extra cash and buy the Canon version. It fits snuggly to the camera and all the buttons and controls work properly.

If you are thinking about buying an off brand because they are cheaper, just remember that you get what you pay for.

this was recommended to me to get for my camera. I was told it would increase my speed while shooting in burst and it would add a good balanced weight to the camera body I own (Rebel XTI). Both so far are true and I am extra thrilled that I can have two batteries to use at one time without having to change them. You also get a second tray to use with AA batteries which allows for more battery powered options. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend to anyone getting serious with their shooting.

I was very pleased with the Canon BG-E3 Battery Grip for the EOS Digital Rebel XT Camera. No trouble installing it for the first time (pay attention to the instructions regarding the removal of the camera's battery door)

Love the feel that the grip adds to my Xti. I have what would be considered average size hands, but the extra weight and size really help those hnd held shots with a large lens (Canon 100-400L in my case) The addition of the second battery means that you can shoot all day without swapping batteries.

Highly recommended item, in my book!

After reading reviews about after-market battery grips, I decided to put the money down for one that I can count on. Makes it easier to shoot portraits. So far, no problems with its features and it did (on a couple of occasions) last a full day of shooting for me (800+ pics).

Best accessory for my XTi so far. One issue I noticed though is that it is less stable when I mount my camera body to a tripod with the battery grip attached.

Works well out of the package. Easy to install and use. Controls for vertical photos is fairly intuitive. This model is a little less substantial than the battery grip for the older Canon Rebel model but seems to work as well.

One thing about the Rebel XT I don't like, it's a really small camera. It might be perfect for people with small hand. The battery vertical grip help solved the problem. Further more it makes more natural to take vertical oriented pictures and you still have all your common used buttons at the tip of your thumb.

This grip gives more balance if used with longer lens, I rarely used my tripod for portraiture. It was a little bit akward for me holding my rebel with my 70-200 attached to it, specially when I needed to do vertical picture. The grip solves the problem.

In my opinion, every camera should come with vertical grip as standard but I know it's not economicaly viable.

Fits great, like it came stock on my Rebel XT. Came with both AA battery pack, and whatever the other ones are called. Works great. It makes the camera feel alot heavier
but I don't really mind. gives you much more to hold onto when shooting horizontal as well.

The first thing that you should get to upgrade your camera. It helps make it easier to handle if you have bigger hands and adds a little more weight which I thought helped balance it more when using a bigger lens.

The Rebel XTi, by itself, is a smallish, lightweight albeit extremely capable digital camera. For anyone accustomed to heavier film cameras making the switch to digital, or with medium plus size hands, you will want to get this grip. My hands are small (for a guy), but this grip helps me hold the camera steadier, and even with smaller hands the verticle release makes it worth the price. You will want to have a couple of extra rechargeable NB-2LH on hand - the camera dines on AAs!

The Canon BG-E3 Battery Grip is by-far the best accessory available for Canon Rebel XT/XTi DSLR. Unless you have very small hands, most people would find the Rebel XT's body to be to be a little too small. The BG-E3 improves the bulk, balance and handling of the camera as well as providing added controls when shooting in portrait mode. With the increasing CF Card capacities (8GB+)the increased battery capacity is also great benefit and also helps to maximize the continuous shooting that tends to slow down when the battery charge gets low with the standard single battery. Great product and a must have for anyone that wants to get the most out of the Canon Rebel XT!

I bought this grip for my camera about a year ago, and I am so glad that I did. Having the second shutter release and control wheel at your fingertips whether you are shooting verticaly or horizontaly is a must. Also, by using this battery grip, you can also use the hand strap which is also a must have, at least for me. I have never had fully charged battery die on this camera, even when I only use one and I am using my 580ex pretty regularly, but the ability to add the second battery is just even more assurance that I will never have to worry about the battery in the camera dying.
