You must use a canon battery with a canon camera to get it to fit correctly. It fits and works like the original equipment. The only draw back is the price if using it for a back-up

This battery was purchased as a backup for my new Canon Eos T1i Digital SLR. I use the camera both for personal photo taking as well as for my business (in order to document meeting activities, take photos of products that we sell in addition for training purposes). As said in my earlier rating the battery is very expensive when compared to other batteries that are out there for other cameras that have equal or greater capacity but it does perform well.

I got this one as a back up battery to my other one. It lasts a long time.

When it is not in use, I just keep it in the battery charger, because the plug in things fold down. This makes it easy to carry.

It really charges quickly, I love that.

Although a little pricey, you can't beat the durability (and resulting confidence) of the LP-E5 battery pack. I do not use the live view function on my Xsi which certainly helps to conserve power; however, even with that, a charge last much longer than I expected. Doesn't hurt to have one as a spare for trips, or if you will be using the camera's built-in flash for a lot of shots.

This genuine Canon rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery (see attached photo) is essential. I wouldn't trust off-brands to replace it, when I'll be out in the countryside, or seeing the sights of Great Britain this Spring. From what I've seen so far, even with occasional flash photos, this battery will last a long time on one charge. Being a smart battery, it communicates with the camera, so you can have a good estimate of the remaining charge.

I purchased two extra batteries so that I could keep one charging, and have two in the optional battery grip, which allows me to have twice the battery time. Using this grip, you can easily replace the batteries as needed using the insert (see attached photo), and the grip also comes with an insert that will take AA batteries for that emergency.

The only drawback to the genuine battery is the cost, which is of course probably 50% higher than off brands, but Adorama's price is a good one compared to other retailers.
