This battery supplies power for a very long time in my Nikon Coolpix S1. Just in case I have two of them when I go out of town. But the most of te time I use only my primary battery.
It charges very quickly in the camera.

When I ordered my camera I also bought a non-Nikon branded battery as a spare (labeled Power 2000). It turns out the Nikon battery performs far better, especially in cooler temperatures. It sometimes lasts twice as long. So, I got a second Nikon battery to have a reliable power source.

I have 5 batteries - all purchased new - and only Nikon brand. Have a Nikon 8800 digital camera. Bought 3 in a deal I could not refuse. I charge them up before I take a trip and then when one is used up I put in another one. That seems to work great. They seem to last a long time except in cold weather and then discharge quicker, as do all batteries. This is why I have 5 batteries. I take photos - with and without flash, show on TV, show someone after taking photo, and they seem to last for quite a while. After they have been in my bag for 2 to 4 months, they seem to lose charge, but I expect that to happen.

Nothing much can be said other than always buy OE batteries. Specifically as a backup, I wouldn't trust a 3rd party battery. Holds charge for a long time, I don't need to worry about it being dead when I need to go to it. Of course doesn't hurt to charge it the night before. [...]
