After I became accustomed to the battery grip on my D90 I definitely wanted one for my D7000. The Nikon MB-D11 is currently the only option and I thought I would wait to see if Ziekos would develop one for this camera. I'm glad I didn't wait. The 'joystick' controls for adjusting the focal point and when reviewing images is very slick. When shooting portraits it is fast, comfortable and helpful. I'm tempted to use the joystick even in landscape position. The magnesium frame matches perfectly and securely to the camera. It has even better/thicker rubber padding than anywhere on the camera itself. The AA battery alternative comes with the camera and has a nice case. Even with two batteries I have had the embarrassment of running out of juice with the D90 and had to use the AA battery pack so this included bonus is nice. It's relatively expensive but it is a lot better than anything I have used in the past. If you have large hands and a shoulder strap to manage the added weight (I use a Sun-Sniper), I highly recommend this new grip.

This battery back is very well designed! It fits the D7000 perfectly! It is easy to install or remove. It feels good to handle and provides that "professional" feel - especially when a large lens is attached to the camera. It does add some additional weight to the camera; but that is to be expected. You can set the camera to use the battery pack first and then the battery in the body next. Changing the battery in the battery pack is extremely easy and convenient. Every serious photographer with a D7000 should have one of these!

Read great things about this and everything everyone said is true. This thing makes a great camera even better. Even though it adds size and weight I think it helps balance out the camera especially when using larger lenses. It's on the camera now and will probably never come off.

This is a no brainer. If you need additional battery capacity and/or vertical controls for portrait oriented compositions, this is the grip for your D7000. Don't go cheap; buy a product designed by Nikon to fit your Nikon.

It gives very good stability for the camera to hold, especially with large hand. Long lasting shooting capability and solid construction. It is a great grip for the portrait shooting, too.

This grip has transformed my D7000's handling. The D7k has great ergonomics to begin with, but as I have larger hands, this grip creates a new home for my pinkie, and is the icing on the cake. Handling with long (read heavy) lenses also is improved, with a noticeable improvement in hand-held stability.

SO over all it was well worth the money. Construction is top-notch, and the addition of a vertical shutter release, joystick and menu dials really improves performance. I do wish it boosted the fps, though.

I ordered this batter pack with my D7000 and Nikkor 28-300mm combo. [...] I tried this grip out and I love it, gives good balance and feel to the camera, especially with a heavy lens.I use it with rechargeable AA batteries. The D7000 battery lasts forever anyway, but if I am shooting on a long day, away from home without my charger like I did yesterday, this gives me tons of extra power and I don't have to worry about anything. It is solid and feels good to hold onto, give better camera stability on a windy beach. I love it!
