Comments about Pentax Pentax D-L18 Lithium-ion Rechargeable Battery for the Optio Digital Cameras:
I purchased a replacement Pentax D-LI8 3.7V 710Ah less than one year ago. Recharged less than 5-6 times. On the last two trips, when showing full charge, it quit after maybe a 50-75 photos. Very disappointed as these were vacation trips to Eqypt and Venice.

Pentax does it again: makes a battery that fits into its own camera just right!
Seriously though, I've had no problems with my Pentax battery as I've used it in my Optio WP for years. I just needed a second one for longer backcountry trips, especially in the wintertime, when batteries tend to lose their charges faster. Having a spare has meant never running out of juice during my most favorite adventures.
The batteries have lasted me 3-4 days of regular shooting in the winter on a single charge. In summer, a single charge has lasted me 8 days with regular shooting (almost no flash.) I'm impressed.

I always carry a spare battery on fishing charters.They average appx.25 recharges before they lose capacity.Small and easy to carry.No real issues.
