I have several En-El3e's and two of these knockoff's and believe me they are not as long lasting as the Nikon's. Use them as a backup but be prepared to get about 70% the life of the Nikon's. My advice, spend the extra few bucks and get the Nikon's.

I bought this on the recommendation [...] that it was as good or better than the stock Nikon battery for my D80 (EN-EL3e). After my initial purchase, I noticed that it discharged far more quickly when not in use than my standard Nikon battery and it also did not last as long when in use. A year later, it's completely dead and won't even recharge in the slightest. Spend a little extra and buy a Nikon battery, this thing is just a waste of money.

Bought this with our camera as a back-up in June of 2010 and by February of 2011 it does not work. It shows fully charged but it will not work in my camera.

Bought 2 with my Nikon 300s in December 09.
Both do no longer load in June 2010.

The original from Nikon had same usage, storage and loading and works without problem.

I like to buy off brand batteries when possible, I find them to be just as good as name brand, only had a problem once because Nikon added a chip to prevent generic Batteries on one of my pro cameras

I have not used this specific battery for very long. Currently it works well with the D300 battery pack.
