Comments about Nikon Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 Software for Macintosh & Windows - Upgrade Only:

I have the original Nikon Camera Control Pro and I like this program. I had to get this upgrade to Pro 2 in order to use my D90 and new D300s. I'm only giving this 3 Stars for these 2 reasons.
1. -1 Star because I think this software, along with most of Nikon software is extremely overpriced, should be included with the cameras. At least the Upgrades should be free for people who own prior versions. But it's just like Nikon to bring out new equipment and none of your previous accessories will work.(Examples: Battery Grips, AC adapters, cords, Lens caps & filters, LCD covers etc...
2.-1 Star because after loading the upgrade, the program could not "detect" either of my cameras but still detected my D40x. After I got over the horror of the thought of having to try and contact "Nikon Technical Support" (another issue) an idea came to me. I'd better check for "Updates".. Lo and Behold there was one and after waiting 15 minutes for it to download to my laptop,,, everything worked.. Nowhere could I find on the box containing the Upgrade CD does it mention anything about the possibility of the need to check for Upadates nor is anything mention in the included PDF Manual. In fact the only mention of it at all is that "Camera Pro2 Automatically Checks for Updates"... It clearly states on the box it supports both the D90 and D300s and one would assume they would work right out of the box.. So what should have taken 10 minutes,,, took me a couple hours...
Thus only 3 Stars...
