I upgraded from a Canon A1 35mm SLR. I only use the A1 as a backup with special lenses. The 20D has enhanced my enjoyment of photography. I would buy it again. The on-board flash is somewhat wimpy. I would recomend a hot shoe dedicated flash for flash photography.

Camera is good for those who want a semi-pro digital slr. It is fast and takes good pictures in program mode. Buyers of the 20D should buy Magic Lantern series books to fully access the camera's features. Only con is that canon needs to sell a cover for the rear LCD screen.
