Comments about Canon Canon EOS-20D Digital SLR Camera Body Kit with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens - Refurbished By Canon U.S.A.:
This is by far the best camera I have ever owned. I was amazed at the quality of the camera, especially since it is a refurb. The camera [...] is cosmetically flawless. Great for serious amateurs and semi-pros. The 20D is wonderful in all aspects and you just can't beat the[...]price! Definitely buy a decent lens for this camera though. The kit lens simply doesn't cut it and is poorly constructed. Pick up the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II if you get a chance, the best lens for the money on the market today.
Comments about Canon Canon EOS-20D Digital SLR Camera Body Kit with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens - Refurbished By Canon U.S.A.:
When I purchased this after the disaster of the Canon Pro-One, I was concerned. As an A-1 user and "lover" I had high expectation. They were all met. A month later they came out with the 30D and that is the only reason I can not say ten stars. I do not regret purchasing the 20D except for the small LCD screen. I would hightly recomend this to any person looking for a mid range digital SLR. Speed and efficency, ease of hand use, and solid construction are only the beginnings of my happiness with this camera. There are far too many good qualities to list here.

Comments about Canon Canon EOS-20D Digital SLR Camera Body Kit with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens - Refurbished By Canon U.S.A.:
The 20d regularly stops working with no warning, rhyme or reason. Practice stoping, droping the battery and rolling it back in its compartment to "reboot". Canons service is generally good, but not up to the persistant quirks of the 20d. Best used on a casual basis, not when you must produce or else.

I never expected that the Canon 20D refurb would be absolutely perfect. Not one nick anywhere. Absolutely like new. Just as good as when I bought my first 20D new [...].

Comments about Canon Canon EOS-20D Digital SLR Camera Body Kit with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens - Refurbished By Canon U.S.A.:
The camera is a standard, a staple of the industry and the bottom line is it works. Not new anymore since the 30D and the 5D are out there, but in the end this is the camera for the photographer that can't afford the 5D

Comments about Canon Canon EOS-20D Digital SLR Camera Body Kit with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens - Refurbished By Canon U.S.A.:
For 9 of the 12 years that I worked as a photojournalist I have used varied digital camera bodies (Kodak, Fuji, Nikon). None of them performed as well as the 20D. My decision to purchase Canon digital came after 5 years of using a Nikon D1H. Our office had purchased a total of 7 D1H bodies at the same time for our 3 staffed photographers and one body for general reporter usage in our office. All of the Nikon's had the exact same problems. Poor color rendention, poor exposure system both daylight and flash, poor battery consumption and longevity, poor low light, poor autofocus. In my opinion and the other photogrpahers on our staff those camera bodies should have been marketed as door stops not photographic equipment. Being a photojournalist as long as I was, I knew many photographers from around our state. Many made the switch to Canon. When they did that - all of the above mentioned problems that I indicated about Nikon had gone away. The exposure system is dead on, color balance and rendition is perfect, battery life is about 6 to 7 times greater, flash photography is very accurate, low light photography is superb, and the Canon autufocus beats the Nikon system hands down. Many of you who are reading this think that I am a Nikon basher. Not so. I used Nikon film cameras for years. I acutually prefer Nikon lenses over Canon lenses because I think the contrast and sharpness are slightly better. The Nikon D1H bodies were built like tanks - you could back your car over them without damaging them - you cannot say the same for any of the Canon bodies. The build on the Canon bodies are adequate but not like the heavy solid feel of the D1h bodies. But Nikon has a long way to go before they catch up to the quality of Canon. But when your covering a political rally and you have to take a dozen or so extra shots to be sure that you have at least 1 good image because you know that the exposure system [...] or the white balance will reproduce inaccurately - somethings wrong. I can use the 20D now in the same circumstance and get images that I know are perfect the first time. So it came down to selling off all of my Nikon glass and purchaseing a whole new system, because getting the shot in focus and properly exposed with good color is more important than the brand lens that I was using or the little extra contrast that I might get from Nikon glass. I am 100% happy with the 20D and will be a Canon user for life.
