I already own a 40D, and an xti as well as numerous lenses I bought this to be dedicated to my Tamron 27-300 lens and since I have started shooting with this setup I have been totally amazed by the quality and how it can get Great photos even at High ISO (3200) this camera is amazing. I have yet to find anything this camera can not handle.

The 9 point focus is very handy and accurate. I would recommend this camera for anyone who is wanting to dip their toes into the world of professional photography.

I am loving this camera. I had the Rebel XT for about 4 years and really liked it. But this camera takes things to the next level.
Only thing I don't like about it is, it is hard to reach some of the control buttons while shooting. But that is sooo minor an issue, with such a great camrea.

I was waiting for the Canon 30D refurb to drop below $500. Great deal [...] from Adorama! Highly recommend Adorama and Canon! I coupled it to my 2.8 28-70L lens and am very happy with it. Only con is that it heavy! But I am getting used to it!!

My first Canon DSLR and I am VERY pleased. Even to a Canon newbie, the controls are intuitive and well laid out. Easy to use, solidly built, high quality throughout, excellent image quality. Eight MP is plenty for my use. Refurbished is a great deal - it comes in a sealed Canon carton,looks like new, everything works great. I bought a refurbished Canon zoom lens at the same time and couldn't be happier.

Great camera, great lenses, 8mp is plenty for my work.
Largish body is perfect for my hands, but may be a little big for some people.
I've bought several refurbished Canon items, and I highly recommend them. As far as I can tell, the only difference from "new" is the price.

I am a weekend pro and I take roughly 1000-1200 pictures a weekend equally divided between this camera and a Canon 40D and honestly from the pictures that I have taken I can hardly tell the difference in the quality of photos and the quality of operation(I rotate my lenses between the two). This operates just as well and the control placement is similar enough that I can't distinguish between the two. I was a little skeptical at first about buying a refurbished camera, but this camera quickly dispelled all notions of that. I only wished that I had bought it sooner. Excellent buy and I will definitely recommend it as a first DSLR purchase over the rebel series which I had contemplated buying originally. I'm glad I bought this instead. For comparison I bought a Nikon D60 with 2 VR lenses and the Canon was much better hands down and also felt much better in my hands (more robust). The Nikon felt much cheaper, lighter and didn't feel like it would last like the Canon would.

I have tested and found the 10d, 30d and 1ds autofocus is not as accurate as my canon eos3. This is the case with other digital camera owners I have talked to.

This camera has great low light performance. I shoot many concert or other indoor events with no flash. Shot for shot the images are actually sharper than the D200 for $300-$400 less. Wide angle not much of an issue w/ new 10-20mm class of lenses. The batteries last forever, twice as long as my brother's D200. The camera fits my hand perfectly and I like the weight.
The only improvement would be dust and moisture seals for the body.

Really fast for a camera in this price range, I mean really. I shoot a lot of action sports and it holds its own. Not difficult to use especially if you are familiar with Canon. Takes one night with the manual to get the controls and features down. I used a cheat card for a week and that was it. But I shoot every day so that repetition makes it easy to remember the little things. The downside is that if you shoot sports you end up with high quality lenses, usually 'L' Series (at least your long zooms anyway) so it only makes sense to have the best camera you can afford which for me means the 30D will be the backup in a few days as I will be getting a EOS 1D. But if I was shooting sports only occassionally the 30D would be perfect. Nice product.

This product seems to have been rushed to market to compete with the Nikon 200D. The instruction book is unclear and poorly written. This should have been a 10.2 megapixel sensor. It's easy to change the settings to exposure compensation (accidently), but difficult to figure out how to change it back. The autofocus system sucks after about 4:00 p.m. shooting sports. It should lock in better on moving subjects. I'm very disappaointed in the camera for the price. When shooting sports horizontally, it's difficult to get a sharp shot due to the convoluted autofocus system.
