I bought the 5D as an upgrade to my 50D and I am not disappointed. The full frame sensor and higher pixel count make a great combination. It is a little heavier and the full frame sensor reduces the effective focal length but I am sure to quickly get used to both.
I haven't used the video yet but hope to do so soon,

[...] I took this camera out in moderate rain but with a lot of wind. I protected it with a plastic bag. The result was a $770 repair.
