Worth the price. This was a big step up from my 6 year old Rebel XT and I cannot be happier with the performance. Lens is a little wonky at extreme zoom. Much better at macro and at around 50mm.

Comments about Canon Canon EOS-7D Digital SLR Camera / Lens Kit with with EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom Lens:
I tend to use this body mostly for wildlife action shots and landscapes. Partially because these are things I enjoy photographing, and partially due to the fact the camera has a very high speed burst mode.
One functional bonus over the T2i (which has the same sensor and is often compared with the 7D) is that with a fast enough CF card it will do 8 fps continuously. This is handy for hyperactive wildlife, especially birds (and children). In bursts with automatic modes (Aperture priority, Shutter priority, Auto, etc), the camera will adjust between shots as the scene changes, which increases the chance of getting usable results. The other bonus is better AF sensors (and more of them) and a 100% coverage viewfinder.
The kit lens is fairly good, but Canon would have done better to have bundled it with the EF-S 10-22mm (excellent wide-angle lens, great for landscapes) or EF-S 17-55mm (excellent general-purpose lens). As it is, the EF 28-135mm is an above-average mid-range lens, and if you have any use for it whatsoever, the bundle price adds only half the retail price of the lens, so you might as well get it. It has acceptably-fast AF and is reasonably sharp, especially when stopped down.
One notable negative is that as of the current firmware (1.2.1), there is a bug where changing the lens sometimes causes the camera to shift to a very high overexposure setting. It can be solved by turning the camera off and back on, or adjusting the setting. I'm not sure if this is exclusive to this particular model or not...
The images below were taken with the 28-135mm on the 7D. Sadly, they had to be resized and compressed with JPG so they fit in the file size requirements, but they should serve as reasonable examples of what you can expect of this pairing.

I use this for professional video and started to get into some photography. I try to keep it under 800 ISO because anything over that seems to get grainy. It is an amazing camera and produces unbelievable video quality. For sound, I would recommend getting a separate audio recorder until Canon makes a firmware update that removes the auto gain control. Overall it is a great camera and I recommend it to everyone.

I'm not going to lie.It has taken me a while to get used to the 7D.Especially focus.I still have a lot of learning to go.I like the 7D.I have a Canon EOS Digital Rebel Xt,40D,50D,7D,and the 1Ds Mark III.The 7D is the most quiet in shutter speed noise out of them all.I think it was definitely worth the money.Especially after buying the 1Ds.Thanks Canon for moving the on/off switch. Not crazy about video on DSLR's,but I bet it will come in handy one day.If you are a photo enthusiast,semi-pro,or pro you will appreciate this camera. To all of the people who get camera/lens combos.I guess it's okay for a enthusiast. To make that camera's photos a lot better, get L glass. You can get them from around 600 bucks.I have the EF 24-70mm 2.8L USM lens(1,310usd),EF 70-200mm 2.8L IS USM lens(1,800usd),EF 100-400mm 4.5-5.6L IS USM lens(1,610usd),100mm 2.8 USM lens(529usd).Not L glass but a great macro lens and a couple of others.I hope this helps.

Have had the 7D for about 3 months and love it more everyday. So feature rich that it can easily trip you up but once you figure out best practices for each scenario it is awesome. Have used it for wildlife photography and after figuring out what autofocus mode and what tweaks are necessary, the camera is awesome. used it extensively at the NFC championship game in the Superdome. wonderful photographs including the game winning field goal where the ball is perfectly stopped in the air just before going through the uprights. Taken from my seat from the opposite endzone with the kit lens. Wow. and everyday photographs with family and travel are simply superior.
Toughest learning curve was the autofocus. So many options that I had to learn what mode should be used when. I made a number of mistakes early and thought it was the camera but after a little advice from a pro experienced with the camera, I made the adjustments and man it rocks

Comments about Canon Canon EOS-7D Digital SLR Camera / Lens Kit with with EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom Lens:
The main use of the EOS is sport photography with low light. Adding another flash light than the one is built in, you will have a better quality picture. 8 frames x second at high ISO is good enough for me. I really like; it's wonferful.

I sold my Rebel Xti, and was very excited about acquiring this camera. I feel a bit in "over my head" at present, but am going to get some tutoring on some of the many, many functions. It seems a bit fussier than the Xti, and I would suggest that,if you are going to purchase this camera, you have experience with SLRs and the manual settings.
