I agree with the all of the enthusiastic reviews. I would add two big items that attracted me. The optical viewfinder is 100% better in sunlight than the LCD screen and it also zooms in concert with the camera lens. Very, VERY few pocket-sized digital cameras have an optical viewfinder. AA batteries make it a big larger than the norm but I like the flexibility of being able to use rechargeable and lithium battery types. I use Energizer Ultimate Lithiums and can shoot for a year on one set of batteries. No recharging hassles. It's well worth the $4-6 for two batteries.

No telling this from a new one. Great set of features with a dial on top that makes it easy to get there quick. Sunset and Kids and Pets features are very helpful.
Use this in Program with exposure set 1/3 a click to underexpose with vivid color. It is eay to set Macro/Normal/Infinity focusing--this will give you results in a <$100 camera that rival any DSLR.

It`s really better than you can imagine. The image quality is as good as anything in this sensor size. so think twice before you spend two or three times as much. It`s not as compact as some of the other cannons, but that`s a plus for me- I can operate the controls without having to angle a fingernail in there! easy to use, came with the important accesories - usb to mini cable, etc. [...] SO, if you need a better camera than this you need a fancy dslr anyway. If you need a point and shoot, it doesn`t get any better. ps - I got a refurb, and no one has been able to tell - no drawbacks whatsoever.
