Comments about Canon Canon Powershot A580 Digital Camera, 8.0 Megapixels, Refurbished:
This camera looks like the Powershots of old (A60,A70,A75) but lacks the functions that made those cameras a real honest camera. The A580 is a camera that could be described as a glorified Kodak BROWNIE. Purchased camera for a pocket carrying replacement for my Canon XT. My A60 could do many of the shots that I take with the XT and do long exposures up to 15 secs which the A580 can not do.
Other than being disapointed by its lack of function as compared to the A60, the camera does give quality pictures. The use of the live view on the LCD is for the most part useless unless one stands in deep shade.

This is a good all around camera that will meet your basic needs.
