Comments about Canon Canon Digital Rebel T2i SLR Camera Body, 18 Megapixels, U.S.A. Warranty - Black Finish:
The Canon T2i is my first DSLR, and I'm so happy I started with it. I'm an avid 35mm girl, so "down grading" to a cropped sensor DSLR, wasn't something I wanted to do. However, it came down to workflow, and having digital makes life easier. My only suggestion to those just getting into DSLR photography with no prior experience with a 35mm SLR, would be to by an alternative lens to the Canon kit lens. There are some better built options with faster apertures, for not a lot more. I'd suggest either the Sigma 18-50 2.8 or the Tamron 17-50mm 2.8. Adorama has both. If you want to stick with Canon, I'd go with their 35mm 2.0 prime lens for great indoor shots, or their 50mm 1.8 for some lovely portraits. All are reasonably priced. The full HD movie mode, is wonderful, the 18megapixel sensor is fantastic. I also enjoy its small size, because I don't have large hands nor need a fully weather proofed body. I also don't need a ton of FPS, so this is the perfect camera for me.The T2i is almost identical to the newer T3i. Unless you need a cool swivel screen, I'd suggest saving 200$ and buying a better lens. With the same sensor, and same build, you're not getting a whole lot more for your dollar. I wouldn't expect the T2i's to be around much longer after the recent release of the T3i however.I'd also like to give a nod to Adorama, I bought my new gear from them. [...]

Comments about Canon Canon Digital Rebel T2i SLR Camera Body, 18 Megapixels, U.S.A. Warranty - Black Finish:
Very useful for doing a walkthrough of any specific location, helpful to understand the parameters that need to be considered for a professional shoot. Also, great results out of the box, including respectable battery life.
Comments about Canon Canon Digital Rebel T2i SLR Camera Body, 18 Megapixels, U.S.A. Warranty - Black Finish:
Great value for money. Simple enough to use out of the box, but enough features to learn to get that great "artistic" shot. Add an IS lens (I got the 18-135) and you can handle most quick shoots. The weight and balance is just right. I still have not been able to get great video, but I'm sure it's there, it seems like an after-thought add on so the controls are not intuitive. [...]

Comments about Canon Canon Digital Rebel T2i SLR Camera Body, 18 Megapixels, U.S.A. Warranty - Black Finish:
Overall, a very solid camera in almost every aspect. A larger viewfinder would be nice, but that's what the higher models are for.
The only issue I've run into is that the video mode, while beautiful, does not have a good AF mechanism and you are left to either manual focus, use the slow contrast AF, or the 'quick' focus which interrupts the video. Also, for some reason, 720p video is only available at 60fps.

Comments about Canon Canon Digital Rebel T2i SLR Camera Body, 18 Megapixels, U.S.A. Warranty - Black Finish:
Just bought this camera as a back up to my 7D. They make a great team. Just got back from two weeks in the Canadian Rockies. Wound up using both cameras so as to minimize lens changes. Not a lot of wildlife, so not much need for rapid fire. Otherwise, it compares very favorably with the 7D which should be a consideration if you are trying to save money.

Comments about Canon Canon Digital Rebel T2i SLR Camera Body, 18 Megapixels, U.S.A. Warranty - Black Finish:
This camera is quite an improvement over my old 40D. More like a 7D. Seems to me to have been more of a performance / features jump than from my 20D to 40D.
Love the camera.

Comments about Canon Canon Digital Rebel T2i SLR Camera Body, 18 Megapixels, U.S.A. Warranty - Black Finish:
i've had this camera for about two weeks. i've used it for everything from macro to nature, some portraits. it's great for portraits. I wouldn't recommend it for shooting sports or fast subjects because of it's slow auto focus and it only shoots 3.7 fps. the image quality of the pictures it takes is amazing. Overall, i would recommend this to anybody looking to get into photography or who is looking to upgrade cameras. The video quality on this is outstanding too.

Comments about Canon Canon Digital Rebel T2i SLR Camera Body, 18 Megapixels, U.S.A. Warranty - Black Finish:
I'm both a photographer and a filmmaker. This camera is amazing. Crystal clear 18mp pictures PLUS the fact that it does RAW and RAW+Jpeg is appealing. It boasts mamy features made popular on the higher end 7D and 5D. It handles light perfectly, it focuses quickly. The HD video feature is perfect for when I need shots with better depth of field than a traditional video camcorder.
All in all, this is a great buy.

This camera packs many features in a nice, lightweight package! The 18 mp allows for some serious cropping without sacrificing quality of the printed photo. Would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a lighter weight SLR. Extreme value for the money. For the hobby-photographer, this camera does it all. Canon has another success with this Rebel series SLR.

Comments about Canon Canon Digital Rebel T2i SLR Camera Body, 18 Megapixels, U.S.A. Warranty - Black Finish:
I bought this camera the day it came out (2-24-10) because of a review I read by Philip Bloom and after spending six months looking at the 7D, and the 5D. I've been shooting stills and movies on it every day since. This is easily the best camera I've ever owned, but the only cameras I ever owned prior to this were old Nikon 35mm film SLR'S ('71 F2, and and a 80's era FE2.) When I bought the T2i, I was mainly wanting a good digital stills camera that had a better than average video capability. But, the T2i turned out to be a totally professional stills camera that is ALSO a totally professional and AMAZING HD 1920 x 1080p, 24fps movie making machine. (first thing, plug your HDMI out of the camera into your big screen and hit the play button to watch your movies.) Make sure you're sitting down. (seriously) I said to myself, "I guess I've never really seen REAL HD" (and I own a Sony Blu-Ray player, and I'm hooked up to both cable and satellite digital HD)(btw: get the T2i kit with the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens just so you can see the importance of Image Stabilization in taking low light stills and most importantly, movies.) I've been using my old Nikkor lenses, ('60's era 50mm f/1.4, and 135mm f/3.5, along with an 80's era 105mm micro-Nikkor f/2.8 by using a Fotodiox PRO Nikon to EF adapter (don't get the cheap non-pro version) and I'm really loving shooting stills and movies manually. But forget hand holding without IS (image stabilization). My Nikkors look great on a tripod, but in my hand, it's like "The Blair Witch Project."Get the kit lens. The EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS (image stabilization)I love this camera so much, I bought a second one from Adorama, (Hi, [...]) and gave it to a friend so we can do movies together. The audio is great for interviews but the automatic gain control means you end up recording every sound at the same volume. It's amazingly sensitive. IT WILL PICK UP EVERYTHING, including your breathing or focusing when you're shooting movies. This also isn't really a problem, because anyone doing serious film uses "second system" sound (a separate recording device that can be synced up in post production using software.) But, the mic in the T2i is INCREDIBLE for cats, kids playing around outdoors, the beach, (seagulls, waves) and for babies. It's also great for buskers on the street. If your shooting indoors, just hold your breath, or, put it on a tripod and back away. If you're conducting an interview, make sure you're the same distance from the camera as the subject you're filming. The mic really pics up the sound from the back of the camera. (because of the AGC) Especially indoors. The only other thing that may be a consideration is the viewfinder, which is not as big and bright as the 7D and 5D. But, I never use the camera's viewfinder, I use a viewfinder that fits on the LCD screen, or lately, I've just been shooting from the LCD on the back. I bought an extra battery and turned up the brightness on the LCD which is way bigger and brighter than either the 7D or the 5D, (in fact it uses a new kind of technology to sharpen the image.) I love it. Best LCD I've ever seen on any digital camera. (much better than any of the other EOS cameras, including the 1D mk4, the 5D, and the 7D.)So, would I recommend this to a friend? I BOUGHT ONE for a friend. Buy this camera... NOW! You won't be sorry. (but get the kit lens, the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS. That lens is worth way more than the extra you pay, (which is pretty low, depending.) If they're out of stock on the T2i kit, get the new body only, and a used, or, demo lens from Adorama. (That's what I did on the second camera... and it was P-E-R-F-E-C-T. Flawless. Actually "like new" in every way.) (did I mention I love Adorama... ?)
I love my new camera, but not my double chin.
