I bought this camera as my first DSLR for my family pictures, etc and it's great! I have had it for about 3 months, and I use it weekly. It has been durable and reliable, and even my 5 year old has taken pictures with it. One downside has been the auto-focus, and I have missed a few shots because the lens kept rotating back and forth and couldn't decide how to focus. Otherwise this camera is an A+.

Excellent quality and warranty like new. I too wondered about purchasing someone elses problems but many positive reviews calmed my fears. If it wasn't for the refurbished stickers there would be no way for me to tell it was not brand new. After a couple of hundred shots i am well satisfied.

I am a newbie, but totally enjoy this camera. It is the next step up from a point and shoot. I was worried about looking like a nerd w/ a big old camera hanging from my neck. But the body is not that bulky and fits perfectly in my hand.

I love this camera! As someone who is just starting out, it is so very easy to use. I am bummed because i am used to seeing the picture in the LCD before i take the shot, but that isn't an option with most SLRs unless its the brand new fancy expensive models! Overall I am very pleased

I am still learning a lot about photography and was looking for a camera with a faster shutter speed because my point and shoot just wasn't fast enough! It also had a harder time in lower lighting, like concerts. This camera is great for both of those and so far has been easy to navigate. I have much to learn but the manual is easy to read, and I can tell this camera has a lot of potential. Also spending less than retail prices was a huge plus! I would buy from here again.

I ordered this refurbished Canon for our local SPCA so they could take quality photos of the many cats and dogs they put up for adoption every year. A talented volunteer had done this for us for years, but she retired and I went looking for an inexpensive digital that could allow us to take snaps for posting to our web site. This is a great camera. High quality photos at a great price. Don't let the "refurbished" scare you. My camera came in perfect condition, original packaging, and there is no way to tell it was refurbished. I went back and forth about getting a refurb or paying $60 more for a brand new camera. I made the right choice, and have no regrets saving a little money. Highly recommend this camera, and Adorama.

My wife finally decided to go from film to digital dslr. I found this refurbished XS and am really glad I ordered it for her. She loves it. I also got a refurbished 75-300mm lens. They both look and operate like brand new. I have purchased other refurbished items in the past and have not been disappointed. Adorama backs them with their own warranty that is just as good as new.

This was a great deal. I got the package with the spare battery and the case and a 2gig memory card for [$]. Just the camera was over $500 other places. Yes it's a referb. but I've bought other Canon products as referbs too. Not an issue for me.

Good camera for beginners like me. I liked its quick AF. Camera was light and convenient for my hands. Unfortunately, in a week of use the camera was stolen( But next time I'm going to purchase T1i for its better hi/res LCD.

Good camera, but definately need to buy an external camera/lights for photo shoots. I have used it in low light situations at a dinner party and church and have had to use a photo editing program to correct a few shots. Overall, I love this camera.

This is an outstanding camera for someone that is just entering the world of DSLR's.

It is great for general purposes, and you can use high quality lenses on it... if you have the bucks of course. The refurbished seems to be new, you won't find any signal of use. It's just like a brand new canon.

As someone who thought they couldn't afford a dSLR I was pleased to find the Adorama offered a refurbished version of this camera. If I could afford it, I would have gotten a much higher level model and a mess of lenses but this package is a great first step up from point-and-shoot digital cameras. As far as I know, other Canon cameras take the same lenses so if I were to upgrade the body at a later date it could take the lens I've got, which is another good cost-saving measure.
In reviews I had read, some folks had trashed the auto focus points but perhaps they need to have their vision checked. I think they're a perfect size so as not to be too in the way of your shot and still allow you to get the job done.
I use my camera for amateur photography - subjects from landscapes to flowers to family, etc. I've had it for over a month and I cannot think of anything about it that I dislike. Having a larger camera than a point-and-shoot is taking some getting used to as I'm accustomed to popping my camera in my purse.

The only real problem I've had with the camera is that the shutter stalls every soo often and you have to reinstall the battery.

this is a good beginners dslr. I mostly use it for talking portrait pictures and occasional landscapes. i don't know if it's because it's a refurb that its louder than i thought. focusing is also really hard cause it tries to focus on the closest thing from the camera. if i had to do it again i'll probably oft for next camera on the rebels line up.

Anytime you purchase something labeled as "refurbished", you start to wonder if you made the right decision. Let me put your mind at ease, what a great buy! To start, the camera showed up in a Canon white box, factory sealed. Once I opened the box, I noticed everything nicely wrapped and padded. After an hour of carefully inspecting every inch of the camera and lens, I honestly can't find a single nick, scratch, or blemish! The camera and accessories look immaculate! I popped the battery in, loaded my memory card and immediately started taking amazing pictures! Do not be afraid to purchase this camera from Adorama. You'll save over $100 and get, what I consider to be a brand new camera!

I was a little nervous about it being a refurb but so far so good. I've had my camera for a few weeks now and I love it. It comes in a Canon white box sealed from the factory. When I opened the box I was suprised that it looked new. There was no visible marks on the body or lens. It operates as a new camera would. I'll update in a month or so .[...]
