I had a Canon XT which was also refurbished from Adorama. The camera worked flawlessly but wanted a larger view screen. I bought refurbished Canon XTi. What a bargain. This XTi works great and it looks like new. Save some money and get a Refurbished one.

I've been using this product for about a month now and couldn't be happier with it. It's lightweight, easy to use, comfortable to grip, and it takes beautiful pictures.

The one thing that was off-putting to me at first is the fact that you can't view the image on the LCD screen as you're taking the picture -- you have to use the viewfinder. Now that I'm used to this, I actually prefer it.

Purchased for a friend's wife for Christmas--she absolutely loved it! Compared to my 30D, I think the Xt/Xs series are a bit too small, but then I'm used to bigger camera and more features.
For fun shooting, family shooting, vacation shots, and she's using to teach a homeschooling digital photo class, it's a great camera. Rugged build, easy to use and great features!

I use it like a point and shoot, but not quite. The lens choices are the "not quite" in that statement. It is a far better camera, with much more capability than most point and shoot digital cameras. It exceeds what I can do with it!

It is very small for a DSLR, light, but is very well made, like most Canon's I've inspected. It seems quite rugged, actually. I really like that it uses CF cards, of which I have plenty (from my point and shoot digital). It also happens that it uses the same battery, NB4-L, as my point and shoot. So, I have spare batteries as well! It has an easy to read intuitive operating menu on the LCD. It is black font on a white background, and that can't be changed, but so what? As for the setup menus, well, if you know Canon digital cameras, you'll know this menu. It doesn't have live view, but no matter - it's an SLR, and that's how I use it - looking through the viewfinder. The LCD is little smaller than the newer cameras (like the XSi and the D40), but that's of no consequence to me. Also, it doesn't do video - but, it's not a video camera, so I don't find that an issue. As for operation, it focuses quickly and accurately, and the mirror retraction is not terribly loud. It also writes to the flash card quickly, and has enough of a buffer to where it doesn't stall when I'm shooting motion shots.

As for cons, it seems noisy in low light, and it also seems to push the image towards a red tint in low light conditions. I haven't decided if that behavior is inherent in the camera or if it's me not completely understanding it. I don't have that much time with the camera, so I'll call that a qualified gripe! And, it's really the only legitimate one I have.

I already had one of these cameras and I bought this one as a backup. You can't beat the [$] price tag. Every canon camera and lens I have bought, I have bought the refurbished ones. I have never had a minutes trouble with this. The all looked brand new. I am getting ready to buy one of the new 5D's because I think I will get better pictures with my L series lenses.

I bought a refurbished Rebel body after my own camera's sensor was damaged in a fall. The body performs just like new and even looks new. I am impressed.

Great, easy to use DSLR, Great value as a refurbished product.

Even as an entry level DSLR you get substantial control of the way images are processed. With a little work you won't need to spend much time in the digital dark room. The camera will make great images as shot.

However, sports photographers will find it a bit slow. And, it goes with out saying that professional level landscapes are photographed on large formant film.

This camera has been reviewed many times by people a lot smarter than I am so the only thing I have to add to that is that I love this camera.

What I would really like to say is that when I bought this refurbished I thought I would end up missing a couple of things. Nope, this came with everything; cables, software, documentations...everything that would usually come in the retail box. What a great buying experience.

I carry it with me at all times. It is quick to be ready when turned on. The automatic features make it very usable. I still have trouble with the location of the shutter control. It seems a little small.

The camera has all the features I was looking for. It is easy to use, and seems to be a very good all around camera. The controls are placed logically and the menu system is also logical and relatively easy to use. However, there are so many things that I can control it will take a while to figure out what they all do and how they will affect my pictures.

The only thing I don't like is that the hand grip is a little small and uncomfortable for my larger hands. This camera would be a "10" for me if the grip were a little larger (or my hands smaller) and the warranty were a little longer as is done with new units. But, I guess you'd have to pay for a new unit to get that!

A GREAT deal though.

This camera has exceptionally good image quality between ISO 100-800, not bad at 1600. I enjoy using this to shoot black and white images due to the built in filters (software) that let you enhance just like the old add on filters did. You have the choice of yellow, orange, green, and red. You can also dial in Sepia. I like to carry this one in B/W mode and use my other Canon in color. It seems fast enough for most uses, especially if you prefocus. Not great in low light without the flash, but on par with the competition. Build quality met expectations for price, even better actually. So far have had no problems buying Canon refurbished (5 items). Better than I can say for some brand new items.

I purchased the reconditioned model as a backup to the existing XTi that I have and like. While it would have been nice to upgrade to a 40D or 50D, it wasn't in the budget. The original camera has worked well for my needs - family pictures, travel pictures.

Like anything NEW it will take some to get used to. It is quite important to READ and understand the instructions in the book provided. As a former professional photograher, switching from Hasselblads to digital took some doing. I am going to take the camera through its trials on the next trip to Taiwan, Hawaii and the Philippines.
