I own a wide variety of SLR, DSLR, compact and sub compact cameras, mostly Canon. Despite this camera being a low to mid range price-point camera, I find pics taken with it outstanding and pics are easy to take. I keep a Canon SD1200 in each vehicle and various other spots to grab and use when needed. I like it better than the SD1300 and SD1400 because it has an optical viewfinder.

Don't worry about buying refurbished cameras, I've purchased many of them without issue and they are a good money savings. With electronic items, refurbished means its essentially a new item as whatever had been a problem has likely been replaced with a new component.
