Bought this to replace one just like it that was lost. You'd never know it was a refurb. Not a mark on it and box came complete with everything. (Have used the previous one diving with the underwater housing and the pictures were fantastic. I expect the same of this replacement one.)

I use my Elph cameras mainly for nature photos and butterflies in particular. My refurbished SD850 came yesterday and I'm well pleased with it. Out of the box it looks almost new - in fact I had to examine it closely to find two very small and insignificant scratches. I love the quality of the pictures, the 4X zoom, the way it feels in my hands and the image stabilization. I own other Elphs but I think this one will become my favorite. Thanks, Adorama, for the product, good service and fast shipment.

i was waiting to buy a canon 850... heard great reviews about it. its a good buy..
it does not have more controls related to flash like i found on panasonic... and later found that photos taken in similar circumstances from a sony camera came out better than this.

Bought this item hoping that Canon refurbished would be new condition as many refurbished products are. This one was basically used, scratches on the body and on the LCD, if this sort of things bothers you, go for a new one.

I bought this little camera as a cheap alternative to my heavy D80 DSLR for those cases in which I just won't carry the big and bulky thing around. Although it is a refurbished item, everything works OK, looks exactly as new and presents no scratches or wear signs.
But now it came out that its's also a wonderful option for macro shots. I'm amazed of the Digital Macro feature and surprised about the results I can get. I think I'll skip for a few months the 60mm. Micro Nikkor lens I was planning to buy.
