Very versatile with good features. Excellent zoom lens, optically as well as digitally and gave good results right up to 40X. As with all point and shoots tends to be noisy even at the lower ISO's (200 and up). Image stablization makes up for this. Tends to use batteries quick so rechargeable batteries is a must with this. In door pictures tends to be a little to warm for my taste but easily fixed in a digital editor.
My favorite is Apeture and Shutter Priority modes, Manual mode and a manual focus option which gives you really good control over your work. Nice!

The slightly larger overall size (compared to common "toy" digi's) is well worth this unit's larger lens providing a much bigger aperature than the common point-and-shoot digi's. Though lacking a viewfinder which seems to be the trend in higher-end point-and-shoot cameras, the huge LCD makes up for it. However, it's still a hard habit to break for us SLR users. Polarized sunglasses were only a problem when rotating the camera "on end".

The commonly-reported short battery life is a very small price to pay considering the necessity to power SLR-type features and the semi-pro quality of this point-and-shoot. I used 12 AA's for approx. 475 pics at 9MP in 24 degrees temps (Cascade mountains / January '09).

Power-up is fast, but time between flash shots is slow. Some might have a issues with that, but it didn't hinder my mission.

The focus-check features were invaluable and the I.S. worked better than expected. Moving car pics were absolutely impressive and sharp.

This camera was easy for my transition from SLR, however the multitude of features might overwhelm the mere mortal. This can serve a beginner as long as they READ the owner's manual well and at least have an intelligence level high enough to figure out how to set a VCR's clock.

A lot of special effects. The lens is equivalent to 35mm - 350mm so full landscapes and wide angle shots are not possible

bought the camera for my daughter... it's a nice step between a P&S and dSLR. great zoom lens gives you a lot of reach to bring things in close. the IS works great! It can be used as a glorified P&S or with some reading you can get some pretty serious advantages that you find with a dSLR... for price and package it's hard to believe we could have spent our money any better.

I'm having trouble remembering to open flash as this is a manual operation. A little dissapointed at field of view and wish the body was a little less slippery.
Other than that the camera is awesome and easy to use, producing pictures that allow you to be creative and expressive.

I use this camera whenever I see something I want to photograph. It's big enough to get the 10x optical zoom but small enough to fit in my jacket pocket. It does go through batteries quickly.

I have owned my Canon Powershot SX110 IS for a couple of month now and I am really happy with it. It takes great pictures and has a great big screen in which you can see them. It has a very good fully automatic mode (which is the one I use the most)and many manual modes that seem very useful. In my opinion the larger size is a modest trade off to the improved picture quality.

My last camera was a Sony Power Shot entry level and I bought it because Sony is a big name. What I got were washed out pictures and an LCD screen was useless in bright sunlight. This Canon is everything I had wanted in the first place and I'm very happy with it. It's not the big bad SLR Canon I've always wanted but for the hundreds less I spent it will do just fine.

This Canon camera replaces our older Kodak easy share, and is quite a bit easier to use. The optical quality is higher, the storage capacity is greater, and the camera is friendlier to handle and to review. We have an Apple laptop and had no trouble integrating the Canon and I-photo.
We will probably buy another for our daughter.

Wow! What a camera! This is my 2nd 10x camera and the best of the two!
Just got back from Costa Rica and it was amazing to be able to capture the wildlife from a distance with the clarity that this camera gives. My travel group was totally impressed with the shots I got and several were going home and ordering this same model Canon. They will not be disappointed!!!!

I absolutely love my camera...but I hate the battery life. I have to remember to carry extra batteries with me. Otherwise, the camera is a 10! The picture quality is great. The color resolution is crisp and vivid. I really do love my camera. The only reason why I couldn not give it 5 stars is because of the battery life.

its a good cam. took a picture from aeroplane over grand canyon. It was crystal clear even from 40000 ft height. Go ahead and buy this. I love it. I have used other cams like samsung L200, CAnon SD 1100. It is definitely better than any of these.

We are so happy with our new camera! It takes beautifully clear pictures and has a wonderful zoom. The only thing I really don't like is the amount of time it takes for the flash to reset. Thus, it isn't so good for sports. But as a small, everday camera, it is perfect!

I gave this camera to my 14 yr old nephew, a budding and enthusiastic photographer in south Jersey. His text message to me was "THIS CAMERA IS SO AWWEESOOMMMME!!!!!!!!" He finds the zoom, image stabilizer, and ease of use to be excellent.

This was a very nice step-up from our basic pocket digital camera. A little larger than what we had, but the large LCD and zoom make it more than worth it.

This camera is great for taking pictures. If you're like us, however, and like to use the video be warned that the quality is very poor when zoomed in. The digital zoom is grainy/blurry/pixalated and is very limited. No optical zoom in video mode. We upgraded to the Canon Powershot SX10 IS and are much happier, though it's quite a bit bigger. [...]

If we had only had this 10X optical zoom on our vacation to Paris a few weeks ago! The pictures are phenomenal. I bought it for my wife, but it is the camera I wanted. I would have preferred the lithium ion rechargeable batteries instead of the AA system. But they are replaceable in the middle of the Palace at Versailles when the bigger batteries have to be recharged for several hours. My wife is thrilled with this camera.

We use this camera for nature photography. We expect good quality from Canon and the Canon Powershot SX110 IS Digital Camera delivers it. We have three requirements of this camera -- light weight, good resolution both near and far, and not too big an apparant "eyeball" for the birds to perceive. The camera, in black, meets these needs and then some.

While large than the typcial pocket size camera, this is still small enough to be very handy for travel. The 10X zoom is very useful for many applications. Even the fireworks pictures I have taken turned out well.

When you're zoomed all the way out, there is some curving that occurs in any long lines in your pictures (I wonder if that has to do with the huge 10x optical zoom (something I didn't really need)), but it hasn't bothered me much so far.

Image quality is better than the three digital cameras I've owned in the past.

The short shutter lag is wonderful. Most other digitals we have used have been so slow that we have missed pictures. This alone puts this camera above many others.
