I bought this camera in advance of a trip to Alaska. I'm impressed with the ease of use and the quality of pictures I've taken. Can't wait to get some great shots of the Alaskan wildlife!

I wanted to replace a Nikon S-10. I really love the Swivel Lens on the Nikon. I thought the Articulating Display would give me the same flexibility - it does not. It is much better than a Non-Articulating Display, however. The Canon S20IS is too large and heavy to hold at arm's length with one hand and articulate the Display and shoot at the same time. It also has difficulty with focus with low light. It is too large to fit into tight areas like Car Door Panels and TV Sets. (I've used the Nikon to take pictures inside of Vent Pipes in my walls!) This Camera is so close to an SLR that the only difference for me is that the Lens is not removable. The Image Stabilization seems to have too little range. I just can't hold it still enough for it to work. It always shows the "Use a Tripod" Icon. The Flash must be opened and closed manually to use - very inconvenient. This is probably a great Camera for someone, just not me. I'll never buy another Camera without a Swivel Lens.

I use this for general picture taking (vacations, family photos, etc.). I do like the longer zoom (20X) but the flash doesn't seem to have the power to get out there like my older Olympus. The AA batteries are a definite advantage and they seem to last quite a while. Overall - it's a nice camera!

Slightly larger and bulkier than the Panasonic Lumix. I like the textured grip of the Lumix also, but I think the Canon takes better pictures.

The camera is good because its Canon. But the only big problem I see with this camera is the loss of saturation. On Auto mode, the colors are reduced to great extent. Faint colors appear as almost white.

O/w the camera is good. But the problem with buying from Adorama is that, the accessories for which i was charged a lot are nothing but JUNK. They were not at all in good condition. The lens cleaning kits bag was completely torn. The card reader can only handle SD card and cant candle mini SDs at all.

If you want to buy this camera definitely stay away from Adorama and buy it somewhere else.

I am just a casual photographer , but to me , this camera is amazing. Very easy to learn and loaded with features , including big time zoom , the pictures are amazing. Everything about my experience with Adorama , ( and this was my first ), was perfect from the time I ordered , until the time the camera came , and the quality of the merchandise !!

Great product couldn't be happier. Didn't have the money for a professional camera and lenses but this suits me perfect. The pictures are great and the camera auto program feature is great.

I used this for many photos during Christmas and have great results. Also shot some outdoor/wildlife shots that turned out great.

The zoom is great but don't count on dSLR results at the long end of the zoom.

Also, with some of the videos I have taken they produce great results with surprising audio quality.

If you are not ready to make the jump to an SLR this is the camera for you. Just ordered the Canon Speedlite 270EX and can't wait to see the results.

Just got the camera and couldn't be happier. As a long time DSLR user I was pleased to see commonly used functions like ISO and exposure compensation not buried in menus and sub-menus like other P+S digitals I've used. Fits in my (large) hand very well. I also appreciate not having to shell out big bucks for an extra proprietary battery, you can find AA's anywhere.

I am a photo enthusiast shooting city scenes as well as nature preserves etc. I wanted the manual settings but found the auto ones really do most of the jobs. I kind of wish it offered a RAW format and definitely wish it had a complete, camera bag size operators manual, like used to come with all Canon products and this is my 5th Canon camera over the years. This is a great camera for what I wanted it for.

I'm a long time Nikon and Canon user, and am very impressed with the quality and results from this camera. Took close up shots of James Taylor at an evening concert last weekend and it looked like he was 10 feet away - but I was nearly a football field distance from him. The image stabilization and low light sensitivity worked perfect for shots even without a tripod. (Just don't tell any concert promoters about this camera - got this right through their ban on removable lens cameras...and had comparable results!) This just replaced my two other multi-use cameras for 90% of my work.

I bought this camera because :I liked the wide angle to telphoto qualities---I have had experience with Canon products and have been impressed. I wanted a new toy.
I have a pocket Elph, and a DSLR, but this would be a good all aropund camera. It is all I hoped for EXCEPT: Any zoom at all gives blurred shots, unless on a tripod. I expected this to a degree, but this is more than expected. Wide angle gives sharp pics, and middle zoom is fair, but if you crop it much you will see the degrading. If you use caution and stabilize this camera you will like it. Oddly when doing movies the satbilzation seems to work much better, and the movies are very good, though I didn't get it for movies.
Anyway, mostly happy, but blurring makes long shots more problematic. Get a tripod/monopod/sandbag, and enjoy.
