Comments about Nikon Nikon Coolpix L12 Digital Camera, 7.1 Megapixel, 3x Optical Zoom, 4x Digital Zoom, 2.5" LCD Display:

Nice little camera for people who don't know anything about photography, but who would like to take nice pictures.
ISO 1600 is both, pro and con.
Why? Because ISO is set to AUTO and user can not change it. So in low light noise levels are really bad (ISO 1600!). At the same time it allows to take pictures on low light witch otherwise would be blurred and therefore unusable.

Another low light con is really long flash recharge time. It locks camera up for about 8-10 seconds, nothing you can do during this time.
Using flash is a really bad idea if you like to take multiple sequential shots fast.

It's not a bad camera, it's just not for advanced user.
For dumbuser it's perfect solution, just point and shoot, no settings to change, nothing to set up. In normal lighting conditions pictures are beautiful, in low light noise kicks in (because of automatic ISO), but you'll get your pictures taken thanks to ISO 1600 and VR.

I would recommend it to someone who doesn't know anything about photography.
I would NOT recommend it to advanced user who needs manual settings.

This is the second L12 I bought for my daughter. The first she dropped from 5 feet and quit. I have some Nikon SLRs but I felt in love of this small one that make astonishing good pictures, and easy fit in my pocket, or her purse. I would like to be fit with a viewfinder, but you could not have everything in its price. I like it as it is.

I just bought this model and let me tell you Nikon L12 disappoints the people who are having faith in Nikon products. The images are blur, photos comeout more with yellow tinge and very bad colour reproduction of the objects. Long lag time if you use flash (8 - 10) sec. If one is at a party you miss out on lot of good opportunities. I didn't find this model up to the mark and intresting. Hence I don't recommend this model to anybody.
The good side of this model are, good construction, AA Battery advantage, compact design and light weight.
