I bought this little camera to replace my old S-4 which I had liked very much. I have another camera which is great, but bulky and not well suited for a sudden, short opportunity such as wildlife appearing in the field. This little camera fits the requirements of such occasions.
I can have it always on the ready, but it is a bit smaller than I would have liked.

I've been a hobby photographer for 35 years starting with 35mm and 2 1/4" film. Went digital for good around '02, and now regularly use a Canon DSLR for my main camera. With the sales Adorama was offering on this camera, I thought "how wrong can I go?" and ordered one. I'm glad I did!
I probably haven't spent a full hour with it, but it has just become my pocket camera for everyday. I really like the HD video it shoots, and it's worth getting as an HD video camera. Other video cameras in this price class don't have optical zoom lenses.
I'm having some issues getting the autofocus to work properly, especially in macro mode, but I think that's me not the camera. Still getting used to it, but I'm sure it will be with me a lot more than my DSLR.
