I was so impressed when I opened the box and the camera looked brand new. I would've never known it was refurbished. I use this camera for my kids soccer games and printing pics. online. So far I don't really have any negative things to say except for that it is a little slow between pics. I am used to my Nikon D40 which can take them very quickly.

I was looking for an extremely compact camera to carry hiking without all the weight and bulk of my D90. This camera has filled the need nicely. Great pictures, pocket size, decent battery life from a tiny battery, and decent response time make this an easy carry camera. It won't replace my D90 for quality, but if I don't take the DSLR because of space/weight limits, how much better was that picture I didn't get at all???

I new that I wanted this particular brand/model of a point & shoot camera after using a friend's last year. I was impressed by the quality, convenience, and couldn't believe it had so many great features for such a small package!
I was a little hesitant about ordering a refurbished camera, but the excellent price convinced me to take a chance. My order was shipped to me very quickly, and when I opened the box, I'd couldn't have been happier! Without the disclosure on the box, I would never have guessed it had been refurbished! So, if you're looking for an excellent small camera, at a fantastic price...don't be afraid! You'll love doing business with ADORAMA!!

I loved my first refurb Nikon S550 from Adorama [...]I had gotten an S550 for my wife and wanted to get one for me. So I did. Upon receiving the camera it was not as perfect as the first one. [...] The camera was partially assembled in that the battery and strap were installed. I believe this camera to be an open box return rather than a fresh refurb by Nikon. With that said I am still happy with it. It works perfectly and just like the first one. For the good price offered it was still an excellent deal. I still highly recommend this camera to others. I do have a D80 and D40 Nikon DSLR and this little S550 does not return the shots, exposure, or quick power on like a DSLR but it does fit nicely in my pocket and works as a backup and carry along camera. It does video very well and I am overall very satisfied with both cameras from Adorama.

I took a chance and went for the Nikon S550 refurbished by Nikon model. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the camera arrived in perfect condition. In fact the referbished version of this camera looked BRAND NEW. I could not find the slightest imperfection anywhere on the camera anywhere. The LCD screen was perfect. The white box was labeled Refurbished by Nikon and contained the camera, battery, charger, strap, hardcopy manual, and software. There was no slip case included. I charged the battery in about 2 hours, installed it, setup the date and time, and the camera was ready to go. It takes sharp pictures. [...] I was ready to buy a second one. I plan to keep an eye out for future availability of the S550 [...]
