I shoot a lot of different types of work, from surfing to glamor. The high ISO capability of this body makes working at faster shutter speeds for bird photography much easier. The big, bright LCD is great for showing showing shots to models. The body is very similar to the D3 that I upgraded from, making the learning curve flat. Beautiful image files. I love this body!

My passion is outdoor photography, especially wildlife. The D3s is built like a tank. I don't have to worry about bumpy roads, light rain, dusty environments or any of the other stuff that goes with the territory. There is no better camera for low light photography (that's why I bought it over the 24.5 mega-pixel D3x). Low noise at high ISO's also means that I can freeze fast moving critters, even in low-ish light. The EN4a battery lasts all day in the field. Bring one spare and you will never have to worry about running out of juice. I am a big guy so the weight is not an issue. My wife and daughter think it is too heavy.

I have the canon 5D mark II which I also love for different reasons. But the low light ability of the D3s is unmatched by anything on the market. I will crank the iso to 12k to get a shot and not even blink. Its truly remarkable.
Feels great in the hand, super customisable and tough as a tank.

This is the absolute best overall, most useful camera I have ever handled. It is unbelievable at high ISO ranges with minimal noise. Blazingly fast fps, and must be seen to be believed image quality in low light situations. If you can afford this beauty, it will change the way you shoot sports and action forever. I shoot mostly in hockey arenas and football fields where the lighting varies both in intensity and in temperature and this body adapts easily to anything i have thrown its way.
