In my 1st review , WARNING ! SERIOUS FOCUSING PROBLEMS - This only seems to effect some of the very early cameras . After Nikon replaced the 1st two early models , my current D7000 has become the one I grab first .

Comments about Nikon Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera Body, 16.2 Megapixel, 1080HD Movie,:

This camera focuses a thousand times better than my D90. I use a lot of prime Nikkor AF model lenses, and it definitely does a superior job than it's predecessor. You have to love the focus adjust feature as well. There is no reason you should not be able to focus any lens correctly with this camera. It's truly wonderful. As we have all come to expect from Nikon, it also has great low light performance as well. Truly an awesome camera.

I use this cameral to photo custom cakes that I make as well as for travel and everything else. As a recent upgrade from an olympus super zoom I am incredibly happy with this camera. Its a little heavy, but it doesn't stop me from taking it everywhere. I use it with a nikon 18 to 200 mm vr lens and its like a match made in heaven. The only complaint i have is the battery goes rather quickly when you use the view finder, it saves battery to just look through the eyepiece. Other than that this is a great versatile camera.

Comments about Nikon Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera Body, 16.2 Megapixel, 1080HD Movie,:

I am currently still learning how to use my Nikon D7000. This is my first Digital SLR camera so there is definitely a learning curve to make the most of what the camera has to offer. You can take awesome pictures the minute you turn the camera on in auto mode. The pictures come out terrific. I want to learn more about all the features of the camera so I can start taking professional pictures. Please do not purchase an eyefi card for this model camera. I learned the hard way that the card fits too snug in this model camera. Remember to order a class 10 SD card the more memory the better due to the HD Video cababilities.

I went digital in 2004 with a D70. It has been a great camera and served me well. I had been checking out all the new Nikon DSLRs since then and, although many were enticing, they all fell short in some way or another. Often it was simply the price hurdle. But when the D7000 came out, it seemed to be exactly what I was looking for ... and at a great price. Was this too good to be true? I waited for the reviews to start coming out and they just confirmed that the D7000 is the best DSLR with an APS-C-sized sensor that has ever been made. I'm loving it!

I upgraded from D70 after six years. It was totally worth the wait. I love this camera. My co-workers love it too. I took some really great pictures at an indoor company event. Pics were sharp and crisp and I had so much pleasure taking the photos. This camera earns a lot of respect and it made quite a few heads turn and ask me about it. The dynamic continuous focus is awesome and fast.

Comments about Nikon Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera Body, 16.2 Megapixel, 1080HD Movie,:

I've been wanting to upgrade from a D70s for some time. I was hoping to avoid the cost of FX (and even more, the cost of FX-capable lenses). Planning a trip to the Galapogos, I decided I had to pull the trigger. I'm really pleased with the high ISO functionality, fast write speeds, and improved auto white balance and auto ISO. On the other hand, mastering the User Manual should count for three college credits.

I haven't used the video on this camera. Perhaps will use it as a novelty sometimes. I wish Nikon had saved the money on video and spent it on improving the camera or dropping the price. Do consumers purchasing this camera want the video capabilities it offers?

I've shot a few hundred frames and am pleased so far. I'm still exploring the camera's functions. I hope that I bring back great shots from my trip.

You can see that there is some minor noise on the test shot and that auto white balance still did not really correct for temperature of incandescent light.

Other than the noise of the ISO from 1600-6400, this is a very nice DSLR and affordable. I have a NIkon D80 and wanted to upgrade, I looked at the D300s and D700, but ultimately chose the D7000 for the price range and the fact that is has true mirror lock-up.

Comments about Nikon Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera Body, 16.2 Megapixel, 1080HD Movie,:

The Nikon D7000 was my first DSLR. I started with a Nikon L100 and in the past years I outgrew the camera. It was hard for me the choose the camera I wanted. D90, D500 or D3100. Having my eye on the future I choose the D7000. The Nikon D7000 is the best camera I have ever owned. It does everything very well and I have had no problems. This camera allows me to do whatever I want. Portraits, Landscapes, Food Photography and Sports.
This camera feels great in the hand and also has a nice grip. I could use this one handed. All the buttons are spaced out well and are easy to use. Once you read the manual and familiarize yourself with the camera the layout is great. ISO is great, menu is great and the available settings are nice.

Comments about Nikon Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera Body, 16.2 Megapixel, 1080HD Movie,:

After several years of "transitioning to digital", I finally got serious and bought a serious camera. My last camera body was a D80 I bought on [...]. It has some issues that the D7000 has taken care of. (1) shutter lag, (2) focus speed, (3) white balance, (4) focus consistency.I was about to go with the D300s when this one came out. Had to wait due to backordering, but the wait was more than worth it.I am very happy with this camera. And Adorama actually came through earlier than I anticipated.

Tired of inferior pics from the point-n-shoots, this is my first DSLR and having had an old Honeywell Pentax 35mm years ago it seems good to get back in the game. This camera has fantastic specs and has everything you would ever need or want in a DLSR for many years to come. It is surprising how easy it is to operate the D7000. Very happy with Adorama so far and love their training resources they share.

This is a terrific camera. I am replacing my D200 with the D7000 and there is a huge difference in the ISO performance and image quality. Lots of nice features that photographers from beginner to semi-pro will appreciate. I also purchased the 28-300 mm lens combo and the MB-D11, which works very well and helps to balance the bigger lens on the camera better. [...] its a great camera.

I'm an amateur wildlife/nature photographer. I am super impressed with the D7000s 39 point auto-focus. I use AF-A 3D and all 39 points for birds in flight and other fast moving wildlife. The D7000 tracks and maintains focus way better than my D5000. The shutter sound is also significantly quieter than the D7000. I originally bought the D7000 for better focusing, more fps, larger buffer, and 16mp so I could crop tighter and still get larger prints. I am not disappointed. This is a really great camera. Oh...and the high ISO performance is amazing.

Comments about Nikon Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera Body, 16.2 Megapixel, 1080HD Movie,:

This camera completely blows my old D40 away. I got this camera with the 28-300 package deal. I just received this camera yesterday [...]and I've put it to the test taking over 1000 pics of sunrise, sunset, airplanes, landscapes, portraits, dogs, birds, food plating, you name it. I can't find anything wrong with this camera or the lens. I also tried it with my 35mm 1.8, my 18-55, and my Tokina 11-16mm 1.8. I tried it with my SB-900 and my SB-400. They all take wondeful pics!Plus, I double checked out the video on it because I read some less than stellar reviews about it. I don't know about them but mine takes crystal clear HD video with no spots or hot pixels. Yes, it might take an extra second or two to focus but that only seems bad compared to how fast it focuses in camera mode. I love the option to be able take some quick video if I want. I got some pics of baby calves eating today and I wouldn't have been able to do that with my D40. The video is no problem on MY camera. Plus I ordered the MB-D11 battery grip, and tried that out, it has good balance and feel, I love that too so far.I absolutely love this camera and everything about it! (My only worry is that I'm going to wear it out by taking so many fun pictures!) [...]

I buy most of my gear from Adorama, and preordered this body-only in mid-September. When I heard (in early October), that some big box stores were releasing kits for sale before release date, I ran out and bought one. VERY glad I did. This camera is in high demand, and is the best DX camera out right now. Upgrading from a D40, I love the low-light capabilities and user pre-sets. The video is gorgeous, but dont bother with using the auto focus, it's clunky, clumsy, and every movement of the lens is picked up by the microphone!
Otherwise, a beautiful camera for anyone who wants an slr with some bells and whistles.

I have had the camera less than a week, but have shot an event with it. The controls are simple and intuitive and the frame rate is adequate. Autofocus is fast and sure, I did not miss the extra AF points of my D300s. There is little difference in image quality from the D300s in good light, but when the light goes down and the ISO goes up it is a hands down winner. Images were a little soft right out of the box, that takes about 30 seconds to fix if you know how to use a camera. I've read a lot of reviewers who complained of "soft" images, set up your camera correctly and it is razor sharp. None of the hot pixels that I've heard so much about. I've made a couple of test prints at 16x24 shot at ISO 3200 and they look fine. It will serve well as my back up camera, in fact it may just become my primary!

Comparing this camera to a $2500.+ body is silly. The image quality and resolution on the D7000 is stunning. If you don't have good technique or good lenses, then this camera is not for you. It shows everything. The defaults are set pretty conservatively, and RAW/JPEG's can easily stand more sharpening, either in the SETUP menu or in post processing.
Great camera, quiet shutter (rated to 150,000 shots!), FAST focus, SOLID body...

Comments about Nikon Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera Body, 16.2 Megapixel, 1080HD Movie,:

Great-looking files come flying out of this body, but before you switch from a previous prosumer Nikon you should know that:

1. No PC/Sync Socket. If you shoot plugged into strobes you'll need to dust off your D100's old SafeSync or buy another Pocket Wizard.

2. No CF cards. You'll need to buy SD cards which may be a drag if you already have 157 gigs of CF. And remember: These files are bigger. They chew through cards faster. Use "class 10" for HD video.

3. Bizarre menu change: Rotate Tall only works in playback. If you shoot portrait orientation via video or HDMI, you're outta luck. Your stuff going to show up sideways which art directors really love. But if you bring your entire production to a screeching halt, you can play them back properly. Absolutely, frustratingly senseless.

4. Mini HDMI socket! Nikon doesn't supply a cable (Canon does) so you'll need one if you use HDMI.

I have nothing bad to say about this camera at all. It's the perfect camera for a pro enthusiest like myself.
