I really think this is one of the greatest dslrs created. My only fear is that a new version will come out and I will want to upgrade. THis camera really gives the great ease of the p&s (c5060 and 7070) with the lense interchange. I think that this is a fantastic camera

Comments about Olympus Olympus EVOLT-330 Digital SLR Camera, 7.5 Megapixel, Interchangeable Lenses,:

When the E330 was intially released, I was bad mouthing the camera as something that advanced users would not touch. I felt (wrongly so) that the live-view feature (and the price) were nothing but a gimmick and overkill. After all I have the E-1 and E300, so I held off getting the E330. But [...] I pulled the trigger and got one [...]. As a result, I've done a complete turnaround on how I feel about this baby. I now find myself using live-view almost all of the time...it's that good (and it spoils you). It makes taking pictures in the most unusual locations very easy. Night focusing is superb, build quality is as good or better than the E300, and that rich Olympus color is still there!! I strongly recommend to anyone sitting on the fence to go ahead and jump in...this baby rocks! You'll be sorry that you didn't if you let this opportunity go by.

Comments about Olympus Olympus EVOLT-330 Digital SLR Camera, 7.5 Megapixel, Interchangeable Lenses,:

I owned the E-300 dual-lens kit (14-45mm wide-angle zoom, and 40-150mm telephoto zoom) for eight months before it was sadly stolen. I now own the later model, E-500, but I preferred the E-300's feel and controls.

The camera is exceptionally rugged and solid feeling; the case is magnesium (metal) and plastic, but mostly metal, and it feels like it would take some knocking around (and it did, I might add).

Controls are very easy; nearly every adjustable item has a button, and the control wheel easily changes them. The procedure: click and turn. Doesn't get any better than that.

Extra note about the lenses -- get the dual lens kit, hands down. The 40-150 tele zoom is one of the best lens values around, it's got great sharpness, reach, and good bokeh to boot. The 14-45 is also an excellent lens, very sharp, plenty wide, and good close-up performance (though not nearly macro). You can't find a better value in a kit from any other brand, period.

Of course you will read that the high ISO (low-light) produces noisy images, but honestly, it's not that bad, and marginally different from the other brands. Other features are more important, but the ISO performance always becomes the benchmark for some reason. Know your light and how to shoot it and you'll get good results. Invest in a tripod and a flash, you should anyway.

Photo quality is outstanding. The colors are incredibly accurate, lifelike; practically real. To some this can seem to produce photos that look "drab" or not contrasty enough, but this camera captures the truth in a beautiful and more than sufficient 8MP of resolution. Editing can be applied after to produce a more "Canonified" look if desired, or saturation and contrast can be turned up in-camera. ;-) The JPEG's produced by the camera are ideal, most images need no post-processing unless it was photographer error ;-)

All in all, the best camera I have ever owned, I miss it dearly.
