I purchased this camera for a friend, but ended up returning it because she wanted the FE-250. The FE-280 has the same feaure-set as the FE-250, but it's highest equivalent ISO setting is 1600, where the FE-250 naturally goes to 3200, and if you set the resolution to 3M pixels or less, will bin the CCD to produce an effective ISOs of 6400 or 10000. We compared the two cameras (280 & 250) and the 250 worked better in low light, outdoor and indoor settings. For most people, the 280 may be a fine camera, but for some people, it won't be.
