I bought this camera to aid in coaching archers. It has a rapid fire ability well beyond that of most SLRs, including a retro-save buffer that allows me to dissect motion - This may be the best on the market right now for this function. When you depress the shutter half-way, it starts taking many frames per second and then discarding them. Once you depress the shutter all the way, it backs up a few frames BEFORE YOU PRESSED ALL THE WAY, and starts writing them to the chip. With a little practice you can capture the moment of impact of the bat, the golf club, or in my case, the release of the arrow. Excellent for coaching!

This camera is great for a serious amateur. I am finally making the change from film to digital. This camera is perfect for me because I take a wide range of photos, from landscapes and wildlife to family portraits to macro and this camera can do it all. You will not get the same professional quality you can get from much higher priced SLRs but you do get a very very good quality photo in any situation. I love it because I don't need to carry around other lenses, filters, film, etc. the camera can do it all.

Just got the Olympus SP 560 UZ a month ago. Nothing but good so far. The Zoom is great. The pictures are very clear. The grip is good. Easy to learn functions. GREAT CAMERA! Good price.

Also, you want forget to take the lens cover off because it pops off when you turn the camera on.

I've only had this camera for a few days, and I was a little nervous about getting it since it's so new and 550 had such mixed reviews. It seems like they really fixed the problems that the 550 had, because this camera has been amazing so far. I started with low expecations so I wouldn't be disappointed but I'm really surprised at how much I like this camera. The overall design is very functional, the pictures are beautiful (even in low-light), it's easy to use, and it's got some very useful features. The zoom is outstanding; even the digital zoom can take good shots if the subject is still. One of the pictures I'm posting here is of my brother's eye taken form across a room using the digital zoom. It's not a great shot, but I was just testing out the zoom and you can see how sharp it is. I'm very satisfied with the 560.
