I bought this DSLR in Belgium, but it's really good!

I just would say this is a very good DSLR for the price. Just to answer the first review: indeed, when you shot for 30 seconds, he will take a second pic of 30" (shutter closed) for the noise reduction. It is possible to turn this option off...

I bought this DSLR in Belgium, but i like it!

To answer the first review, the time taken for a 30" shoot is because of the noise reduction: The K10D takes a second 30" pic to withdraw it from the first. You can turn this function off in the Menu > C

A profesional SLR (quality, features, ...) without a profesional SLR price.

The only con is that the post treatment of a long exposure picture takes too long (about 30 seconds for a 30 seconds exposed picture). I think it's immediate with Canon SLR (but I'm not sure).

Comments about Pentax Pentax K10D Digital SLR 10.2 MP Camera with Pentax SMCP-DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL AF Zoom Lens:

This Camera is by far the best camera I've owned. In the past I've owned Nikon equipment and Pentax equipment; I stick with Pentax simply because the value is always there. They have a habit of over spec'ing their cameras while underpricing them. The K10D is the best example of this, there are features that are only available from other brands in cameras that cost hundreds of dollars more, and some that aren't even available in any other brand. The accessories can be a bit hard to find locally, but hey, adorama has them all. The camera is built like a tank and weather sealed, this really builds my confidence to go out and actually use the thing the way it was intended to be used.

The K10D is not a camera for those who do not want to learn photography, yes it has a very good full auto mode, but to get the most out of this camera you've got to set it to your liking first and use the manual functions. Once you've done that you can truly appreciate the work of art that this camera really is.

If you're currently trying to decide on a DSLR, give the K10D some very serious consideration, or open up your wallet and pay for a more expensive camera from one of the other brands, you'll have to do it to get as much camera as you have right here.

Comments about Pentax Pentax K10D Digital SLR 10.2 MP Camera with Pentax SMCP-DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL AF Zoom Lens:

Very well built, with well designed controls. Though, it takes some time to switch from *ist Ds, due to some new buttons and slightly different controls layout of K10D.I like the weight of the camera, it feells solid and comfortable in hands. The environmental sealing is also a nice addition to the features list. The AF operation was improved a lot compared to the earlier *ist Ds model.I am happy that the Hyper-Program and Hyper-Manual modes are back in their new reincarnation. I was missing those a lot after I have put my Z-1p on shelf. The 18-55 kit lens is very good. The latest software revisions allow built-in flash of K10D to act as a wireless controler. This is cool, since you do not need an aditional hot-shoe mounted flash for wireless operation. What Pentax should look at:1. The shutter release buttom. It takes almost no efforts to press it half-way. Too "soft" for me. Not to say it is a big drawback, but I prefer the feeling of the one in my *ist Ds.2. Menu interface requires revision to add "user-friendlieness" to it.3. When you shoot in PEF, the actual number of remaining shots is not displayed correctly. The camera is giving VERY pessimistic forecast. In practice, however, you can get c.a. 30% more shots. This has not been fixed in the firmware v 1.30 yet.But still, it is great and very capable camera!

I purchased this camera right here at [...] and I absolutely love it. I haven't been able to put it down since it arrived. Excellent design, sturdy construction and I like not having to delve into several levels of menu to change settings. Buy this camera, you won't regret it!
