I needed a camera for the studio that anyone could learn in a day. This is the first DSLR I've been able to use out of the box. Everything is layed out simply and the language is layman enough for a beginner. Is it the end-all-be-all? Probably not but it does everything I need to get professional-looking photos for my website and artist portfolios.

The price had a lot to do with my choice but I don't care for canon. I used Pentex in high school and knew it was a very good camera so I stuck with what I knew and I'm very glad I did. I love the camera and would tell anyone that is thinking about learning DSLR to buy this brand!!!
