Just up-graded from Maxxum 7D. I should have done it a year ago. In the week and a half I've had the Sony I've shot two wrestling tournaments, basketball, soccer and an indoor charity event. Very few out of focus frames even when continuous high speed shutter release. I use release priority when shooting sports and the Sony auto focus keeps up much better than the Maxxum. So far have sold images to three small papers.
Performance in an auditorium with all black drapes using flash was about what I expected. Since I mostly shoot sports I don't like to use flash. With the Sony I'm getting useable images even in small-school gyms with low-budget lighting.

Thank You Sony for bringing us the best Minolta camera ever! It is incredible, if you don´t bealive me check the intelligent detpt of field, how did I manage without it.

Simply put this is an old school photographers camera. No live vue, no video,none of the thingsthat I would never use anyway.Beautiful retro styledpenta prism is bright and 100percent accurate. Itmakes manual focusing easy & accurate.Auto focusingis also fast and usually right on.Havn't shot in RAWyet but SHQ jpegs are very impressive my opinion asgood or better than most medium format film cameras.The only thing I would change is the hot shoe,youmust purchase a 100.00 adapter to connect radioslaves or any non Sony flash.But all thingsconsidered this is an awesome camera,when you dropthat first image into photoshop you've got to sayWOW.

Competition is a very good thing and Sony just joined the competition with the a900 by hitting the ball out of the park.
I love this camera. It's got big, bright viewfinder thanks to a pentaprism that reminds me of the Nikon F that I owned many years ago. It's built solid as a brick - just like cameras were in the good old days
Sure, it's got twenty-four-and-a-half-million-pixels, but that's only part of the story. The files are excellent with lots of shadow detail and tack sharp thanks to the growing line of Zeiss lenses.
