The Panasonic lens adaptor is a high quality heavyweight piece of aluminium that while expensive, is worth it for what you get. If you plan to put a protective filter in front of the lens (of course you are), than a well made dimensionally stable adaptor is critical. If you are going to to add the Panny wide angle lens, than a good adaptor is even more important. It is only common sense no? Why put a $12 knock off on?

Look at it another way. Want a poor man's Leica? Put the adaptor on with a good quality filter to protect the lens. Get yourself a Voightlander 21mm finder from Adorama, and you have yourself a Leica like it used to be. I use it this way all the time and it works great.
