Great price from Adorama with the rebate [...] I tested this card against my 300X UMDC and Sandisk Ducarti 4G cards and found only minor performance differences between these high speed cards and the 133X with D300 high speed burst mode. 133X sustains about 5-6 fps for about 50 frames (~8-9 seconds) and the 300x/Ducarti sustain about 6 fps for about 52-55 frames (~9-10 seconds). The price different really cannot justify the slice performance improvement. With my Sandisk pro USB2.0 reader, I don't see much transfer speed different either, perhaps the bottle neck is my card reader.

I use this Lexar card in my D300. In camera write is fast and reliable. Download speeds using a Lexar firewire card reader to my iMac again are fast an reliable. For this size card, I'm not sure faster cards are necessary. Great value.

The workflow of a shoot often requires getting photos off the camera quickly making a smaller capacity chip practicle but you never want to be caught with out of space when that great shot presents itself therefore this larger capacity chip is very acceptable in our operation.

With the recent Lexar rebate for this product, there simply was no way I could not purchase. It's fast and spacious - 8gb? I've been using 4gb cards until this.

It is loads faster than my older CF cards - used primarily in my DLSR. Fast read, write, and transfer speeds. Critical when shooting in RAW.

I have used Lexar CF cards before, and have found them fast and reliable. In this case (and for my uses), the card was wonderfully fast and certainly the cost per megabite was minimal. The rebate response from Lexar was quite quick!

slower than sandisk, and less reliable. experienced a few file-corruption after appox 30 downloads. doesn't happen with sandisk.
It happens under heavy use, extreme temperature. i don't think this will happen to everyone. But if you are a pro shooter, it is not worth the small $ saving and get sued for lost images.

I have purchased the 1st Lexar 8GB 133x CF Card years ago when it was on sale. I used that card the most in my past 3 years' photography and it never let me down. I use this with my 40D. Compared ot other cards such as the Sandisk Extreme III 30mps and the Lexar 300x, this card seems a little slow. However, unless you are looking for long bursts in raw (for me longer than 3 seconds), you won't notice the slower write speed.

As an avid prosumer, I'm blown away by how much you can get for so little. Lexar is a brand I have always used and in the past, because of cost, had to stick with their smaller or slower card sizes. 8GB is perfect for my uses - large enough to hold 250 RAW files and not so large that my whole shoot is on one card. Its fast enough to shoot at the full rated burst speed of my Nikon D300. This is a good buy considering it wasn't that long ago that I paid $99 for a 256K Compact Flash!

These 133x cards from Lexar work great in my D700. They are clearly not as fast as the 300x udma cards, but it does take a little while to fill the buffer. Highly recommended.

I use this product, and other Lexar Professional CF cards, for recording digital audio, usually 24-bit samples @ 96kHz, and with several Canon DSLRs. The Lexar products have been rock solid. Their performance rating exceeds by a fair margin what's necessary for the audio application and the allow the cameras to reach their maximum rate in "motordrive mode."

I've used this card for over 2000 shots with my Nikon D200 and haven't had a bit of trouble. Can't really say that I noticed a speed difference over my 80X cards, but that would be hard to measure without a "scientific" test.

In this age of digital photography it is very easy to get wrapped up in shooting pictures. Gone is the time when you had to worry about having enough film, missing that "perfect" shot because you ran out of film. Not any more, thanks to this great memory card. I use a Canon 30D and can take 622 RAW + High JPEG pictures. That's a lot of pictures. And transferring them to the computer is fast. All in all this is a GREAT memory card and recommend it to all photographers, whether beginner or pro.

I've only had this card a little over a month, but I can see a huge difference in speed over anything I've owned before. Even shooting max RAW and simultaneous JPEG files from my D200, it takes continuous high speed bursts to reach a point where there is any delay necessary, waiting for the card to catch up. 133 x way fast! I got 19 frames burst on a Nikon D200 (large raw + basic jpeg) before it had to catch up... not too bad. Downloads fast to CPU too.

The only draw back was my Canon 10D could only register up to 999 pictures available on the card. I have no idea how many pix I can put onto the card. Card works well. Not sure if its faster since I had an 80X 2Gb card prior.

I chose this CF for its speed. I was able to
prove its worth at an air show.
I was able to photograph an F-16 Hornet from lift
off to vertical and a few rolls.
The flash card stored the information quickly and
accurately. From lift off to vertical onlly took
a few seconds, however I was able to take 5 pictures, which were all keepers.

Expected it to work as well as my Sandisk Extreme cards but it is about as slow as my Sandisk Ultimate cards! For a 'Professional' model I expected faster performance. I can understand it being slower than a 4GB or 1GB card but not this much slower.

The card makes photographer's fear of running of recording media at one event disappeared. With a 10.1M camera, you can record around 900 raw file. It should be more than enough to cover a single event.

I've only had the memory card a short time, but I have found it very fast and reliable. I no longer have to change cards partway through a shoot or wonder if I am going to run out of memory before the shoot is over. Bottom line, get it for regular shooting or travel. Look elsewhere if you need to get the best burst performance.I got this card because it's an unbeatable value for general photography and travel. 8GB stores plenty of RAW shots from any camera. The downside is that it's not very fast. In Canon cameras, it's no faster and maybe even slower than the very basic SanDisk CF 1GB card I have. And up to 25-30% slower than the smaller SanDisk Ultra II cards in my camera.I tested it against other cards I have to see how many RAW and JPEG shots I can get in 30 seconds with a Canon 1D MkII[...]

I always use the double save feature NEF (raw) and JPG (fine) for each shot I take. With the 133x speed combined with the internal buffer I have been unable to overflow the buffer on my D200. Very fast. The extra capacity is very helpful when I go on extended hikes. I can easily take 200-300 shots and saving both formats consumes a lot of space. This was a great purchase and I highly recommend it.

I got this card to boost my storage capacity for long trips and events. Normally, I would not need the card because I have several others, but this will really help, when needed. I have tested it out, and it works well thus far.

Giving 4 stars instead of 5 because it needs to be evaluated over more time, more use, before I can give a 5.

I use this in a Canon 30d. The largest cf card I had before this was 2 gigs. Because of it's greater size, it takes noticeably longer to format or to delete all pics. Also, my pc takes a moment longer to process it. None of this is a problem though, it works great!

The Lexar 8Gig has performed flawlessly for me. As a professional photographer, I needed alot of storage, fast write and reading and the Lexar has met my expectations as promised. I have one card in each of my Canon Mark II's. I highly recommend this product. You will not be dissapointed.

Great experience so far -- has been fast enough to keep up and not make me wait to shoot with my Canon EOS 5D! 8GB is GREAT especially for shooting RAW and even RAW + JPG.

Also very nice knowing that I have a brand name card by a manufacturer that has a reputation for standing behind their products.

Definitely recommended! Just one caveat -- be sure to save the included software before formatting the card for the first time... just like the giant warning on the packaging tells you to! I haven't used the software yet but at least I know I have it...

Purchased for use with Canon EOS-1D and Ds MKII bodies. Compared against Sansdisk Extreme II and III cards very favorably. Rebate brought the price down to a very attractive level against lower performance cards. Large images need a lot of bandwidth and storage - this card delivers.

This is an excellent product at an excellent price. It works flawlessly. Even though my camera manual states that cards bigger than 2GB have not been tested, it works with out a hitch. I shoot raw files and I need the space. Transfer to my computer was quicker than the 40X and also without problems. I would strongly recommend Lexar Professional cards for their reliability. I have been using a Lexar 2GB Professional for more than five years and it never failed.

I have been swayed by the Lexar performance to purchase a number of cards. I was amazed by the storage capacity of the 8 GB card. HOWEVER, I was a loyal Lexar customer, I might have to look around. I shoot all Canon 1D Mark III bodies and they eat up space rapidly. I was using a number of Lexar pro 2 GB 80x cards with positively perfect results and amazing card writing qualities. I have a customer that wants RAW files and the 2GB wasn't going to work. I purchased 6 - 8 GB 133x cards and can't believe how S L O W the cards are to write to. I have a 32 frame buffer and these cards eat up the whole 32 frame buffer when shooting sports action. I am still sold on the Lexar brand but I think the larger cards can't perform as well as the smaller cards do.

I saw the buss on the nikon forum, so but the time i order it the price had changed but still i purchased it, i whish they correct the mistake and settle on one price, it will take some weeks to get the merchandise to where we are in iraq but it will be worth it. Great size with over 400 images for a Nikon D200 at full quality. Wish I had this for my trip to Austraila with a D70. I have some other high quantity compact flash cards but I worry about the reliability.

Incredible fast read/write speeds. With the Lexar compact flash card reader, it is almost as fast as a wireless connection.
