I am a retired archaeological photographer with many published photos who paid $50 for my first FOUR MEGABYTE CF card 8-10 years ago. (It still works, BTW!). It was worth the wait.

Comments about SanDisk SanDisk 12 GB Extreme III Compact Flash Memory Card.:
No problems except that one of my USB card readers hangs up when trying to read it, another one I have works fine. Don't know if it has something to do with 12 not being a power of 2, or just too big for the reader, or what. Other Extreme III's read fine on same reader.

As fast as you think it will be... it is better. Browsing 8MB pictures is almost like viewing on a HD.

The SanDisk Extreme III is a great card. The 12 Gb card MAY be fine for my 30D, but I've not filled it up to the limit, so I don't know if it will truly hold the full 12 gigabytes of photos. The "capacity" is not really a CON, since it does have very high capacity. I'm just not sure if I'll be able to utilize the whole card in my camera.
I would recommend the Extreme III to anyone.
