The Extreme III ensures that the limit on my Canon 5D is the download speed of the camera, I am never limited by the memory card. I generally shoot RAW and use three 4 GB cards per outing so as to never risk more than a third of my effort. With that said, I have never had a corrupted or lost image with any of the cards.

I just got two of these cards for a trip to some canyons out west. I never had a single problem with either card. Cleaned them off everyday to my laptop - worked great. Fast and reliable. There's not a lot you can say about memory cards unless you've had one go bad. I've had other Sandisk cards and they've been reliable. This one is fast enough for rapid bursts on my D200. I appreciate that they bundle these with an image rescue program and a keychain case.

I have never used the Extreme IV cards, but these Extreme III cards are excellent. Being a professional photographer, my photos are critical. I know I can trust these cards. Plus, they come with rescue software in case of any problems.

There's not much to say about this card that hasn't already been said somewhere, it's just a Flawless piece of high technology that is like the Energizer Bunny and Just Keeps Going & Going & Going ! As a Professional Photographer I own (5) of these & (2) 2GB Versions and I have yet to have a single problem complaint with this card. Using a Nikon D300 that takes advantage of the Read/Write speeds it just burns up the captures and keeps doing it day after day. If your using a ProSumer - Pro level camera and not using a minimum of an Extreme III card your missing out on the blazing speeds of this card and cheating yourself out of some pure joy, Nuff Said !

I have used three of these cards for over a year now. They have been subjected to tempuratures ranging from -10 to +105 without any problems. They have taken some pretty good impacts; gone for long motorcycle and bicycle rides (vibrations-s-s-s-s), and have never shown any sign of failure. Failure is not an option when the loss of hard earned photographic data is critical. Each card comes with a little frisbee called a "recovery disk". I suppose there is a possibility for problems, but I have yet to see any. In the continous mode, the cards keep up fine when shooting RAW and JPEG simultaneously. It is a great product. I have no need to search around for another Brand/Model. Hope they work as well for you too!

Perfect size. For normal shooting there is more than enough room to shoot raw. I have back-ups for those extra long days of shooting. I like not relying on one super large card.

I recently took two of these cards (as well as two 2GB Extreme IV cards) on an 8-day vacation to London and Belgium. I used them with a Nikon D300 (a 12MP camera), capturing 12-bit lossless compressed RAW files. These 4GB cards held nearly 300 such large images. The capacity was great.

Before the trip I was worried about running out of space. Thus during the first few days I spent time reviewing in-camera shots and deleting duds and probable duds, and not taking shots that might have been marginal. But it became apparent that I had plenty of room, which made shooting more comfortable for the rest of the trip. (And caused less drain on my camera battery, thanks to not using the LCD panel as much.) I began experimenting more, which was fun -- that's photography!

(My two 2GB Extreme IV cards are fine too, but I prefer the doubled size with somewhat slower speed of these 4GB Extreme III cards. Not having to pay as much attention to the shot-counter is handy, with only a modest speed reduction when uploading. I did not see any in-camera speed differences between the Extreme III and IV cards.)

Back home after the trip, I used a new SanDisk FireWire reader to copy the images from the cards onto my Mac. Copying a nearly-full 4GB only took a minute or two. To me, this card is a great blend of size and speed for the price.

I like the speed of this card. It worked perfectly for me. I think it would work much better if used with a firewire card reader. But still just tranfering directly from camera it's pretty good.

4gb is a perfect size for me. I constantly shoot raw, so this card holds enough to keep me from changing constantly but not too much in case something fails and I lose all my pictures. It's quick and consistent speed is a plus.

Card is great. Only suggestion is that all card manufacturers prominently ranked speeds using a single standard such as 133x, 266x, etc.

Saying Extreme III by itself confuses the issue when comparing to a Lexar 133x for example. Only when you read the fine print on the package after it arrives do you see that they are the same.

I have a wide selection of cards, this one is the best I have used in this price range. Just shot a job with this card in 100 degree temps with no problems. Will be working on a snowboarding job this winter, so we will see how it does in cold temps.

This is my second purchase of this card. Living and working near the Arctic Circle year round calls for rugged equipment and this card fits the bill. I shoot 15 meg (RAW+JPEG)files and the 4gb is a convenience size. There are faster cards and cheaper cards, but I keep coming back to this one.

For me this card is just the right size. I get over 200 shots (raw and fine combined) per 4 GB card. I have not been able to shoot too fast as of yet and have never had a card failure with any of the "eight" Sandisk CF cards I have. I have no reason to try any other card.

I initially shied away from buying a 4 GB card because I had a friend who bought one for his Rebel XT (my camera) and it was extremely slow to review shots taken, but this card is fantastic. (His card he was using was a regular 4 GB card -- not any of the Extreme or Ultra cards by Sandisk.)

After going through the torture of having two 4GB microdrives fail following a shoot, using the CF card definitely makes me more trusting. Capture rate for RAW files is impressive. Much better than either the Hitachi 4GB microdrives or the Seagate 8GB microdrive.

I haven't tried too many brands of CF cards. In fact, Sandisk was my introductory brand to memory cards. I tried Lexar because it was advertised as being faster - I lost images on the Lexar due to product defect. I immediately switched back to Sandisk. For over 5 years now I have not lost a single image on a Sandisk card, and that kind of peace of mind is worth paying whatever extra cost the better card might entail.

Good solid performer. No problems. In addition to digital photography, this thing is perfect for transferring images from my work Mac laptop to my PC at home. It saves hours of time. I can use it like a Cruzer or USB flash drive, but since it has the ability to hook up to my firewire, it's faster than a USB flash drive.

One of the advantages of digital is not having to deal with film: buying; storing; loading; switching rolls etc. This card takes that advantage to another level. I can take 240 RAW images or literally thousands of small jpegs without downloading or switching cards. I love it.

Scandisk Extreme Compact Flash Cards are the only ones that I use on my 30D. I absolutely love them. I had a 2GB and realized when shooting raw, it barely fit a day of shooting. The, the [...] came buy and the 4GB fit my workflow perfectly. So now, with my 2GB and 4GB I have 6GB, just in case I need more when out shooting. I'm sure eventually I'll upgrade to the 8GB or, just another 4GB. For now though, these 2 are a perfect companion.

[$] All my CF cards, old and new, are SanDisk and I've never had one fail. Other newspaper photographers I work with can't say the same about their Lexar cards. The Extreme III shoots (writes) as fast at the Extreme IV for less money. Reading the photos to your computer with a full 4gb card will take some time unless you have a fast reader. That's where the Extreme IV with the Sandisk Extreme card reader has an advantage. Only the combination of the Exreme IV card with the Extreme reader get the top reading speeds. With the Extreme III card I get slightly slower but acceptable read speeds with the Sandisk Imagemate SDDR-92.

Outstanding product. Provides hundreds of images with a very rapid read time. If your camera is up to the task, JPEG burst shots will continue as long as the card has space to store them. No lag time for buffer emptying. That often makes the difference between a missed or a captured shot. That's why I use SanDisk Extreme III cards for the bulk of my shooting. I highly recommend SanDisk compact flash cards.

because this card has almost 4000 MB of space is easily works as a back-up system. Some days I can afford to leave my laptop at home just because the files fit on my 4GB CF card without any sacrifice. The plus either way is that the same card is intended for use in my DSLR camera. The best of two worlds.

Everyone would want to get this because it is very fast and reliable. But it is expensive. I used this for the upgrade of PDA memory (Lifedrive inner memory) but I want to get one more for my Canon 20D.

I have used other cards. They do not even come close to the performance of the Extreme III cards. I have had no trouble with any of my cards and I own a few of them.

Works well with the D200, haven't had to wait for the buffer to clear, ever. Seems to be pretty durable on several trips around the world.

The D200 advertises a large number of high-speed multiple exposures, and I have not seen this card slow the D200 down at all.

I bought this because it was supposed to be extra reliable and the price was really great. But it was the only memory that failed me, literally in the middle of the jungle. In hindsight, 4 GB is not practical. If you lose it, you've lost a couple hundred pictures. If it fails, you'll wish you had a lot more backup. I'm going back to 1GB memory and won't pay extra for a fancy name.

buy one and do not look back. Less expensive cards are often times not fast enough to keep up with today's memory hungry DSLRs. I have used the Extreme cards outdoors for years and I have never had one let me down.

I shoot weddings with a Canon 5D and this card has yet to stall on me ever and I haven't got any corrupted files also, which is a great benefit compared to past cards I have had. Great Performance, Great Durability, Great Quality. A+ on a whole!
