I shoot a Canon 7D at 18MP and HQ Video 1080@30FPS and 720@60FPS with this memory I saw super smooth video with no hiccups. This camera can shoots 8fps at 18MP in jpg mode. Slow memory will slow the frame rate down, with this Extreme IV card I saw no slow downs. Even shooting in RAW these Extreme IV cards are very fast. Transfer speeds from the camera to the computer were also very fast. I am one very happy customer. After owning the Extreme IV card one week I bought a second one. You can never have enough memory.

Great Product, I have been using SanDisk for more than 3 years with 0 Problems. Better if take advantage of the discount. I prefer buying 1 (8GB) now and 1 later that buy 16(GB) and take the risk of damage a lot more of images. That is my recomendation (Don't put all your eggs in the same basket = finance 101)

I bought this card so I would have faster recovery time when shooting in RAW. I used it to shoot a wedding, and was very happy with its results. I even transfered my images to my hard drive halfway through the day so I could continue to use this card rather than finish the day with my much slower backup cards.

My previous card was a Sandisk Extreme III CF, and the increased speed from 30 MB/sec to 45 MB/sec has tripled the length of my burst capability on the Sony DSLR-A700 from 7 to 22 frame bursts, shooting RAW.

Everything else is accordingly faster, too; displaying the stored images on the back of the camera, bulk file transfers, everything.

Don't compromise, get the best--it's a tool you'll use and appreciate every day.

This is an upgrade from the Extreme III, which was fine for normal people and landscape photography but was much too slow for bursts of wildlife shots. This kept up much better, though did have to wait after about 6-7 shots on my Canon 30D.

I use these with my Nikon D300. I bought a pack of three of these to replace a 16GB of another brand which had failed me on several occassions. After a short period of taking multiple shots, the old card would crash. I have not had any further trouble after switching to these cards. They are fast and so far, very reliable.

I got the Extreme IV at an extremely great price from Adorama for use in my new Nikon D300. Based on the[@] review of the D300, the Extreme IV is the one memory fast enough to work at the 6 fps spec. I've tried it and the camera seems to be taking pictures at a much slower rate at the continuous high mode. I've got to go read the D300 manual to see why. Probably because I'm doing JPEG with D-lighting turned on. Too much processing? The recovery software that came with the Extreme IV is a disaster. I could not get it loaded. It hangs up right at the end and would not continue. I called Sandisk and they referred me to the software writers. I talked to the guy there and he said he would send me something. Never did. I'll have to call back when I have time. Fortunately the memory has worked fine so far and nothing has to be recovered. But it would be nice to know the software is ready when needed.

I have already purchased six of these CF cards (two purchases of three each) and received two rebates. The first rebate took exactly six weeks from the time SanDisk received my submission until I had the rebate check in my mailbox. The second rebate took just under six weeks. This last rebate (for one CF card purchased in October) is still in process and the SanDisk folks now tell me that a full 8 weeks will elapse before they can send out the "debit card". [...]

This card is fast enough to keep up with the D300 and offers plenty of capacity while shooting RAW. Cheaper would always be nice but it was worth the money. I wouldn't mind getting just the card and not the carrying case and recovery CD if it would save me a few dollars.

If you are shooting with a D300 this card is a great choice. It's able to keep pace when shooting in JPG so that the buffer never fills up and when shooting RAW it's the camera that holds you back, not the card. Excellent choice.

I bought a D300 and my Sandisk Extreme II cards couldn't keep up. I got a couple of these 8GB Extreme IV cards and my D300 keeps shooting away. I also got the Extreme Firewire Reader and the downloads to my Mac are fast. It's an expensive card, but worth the money if you are doing bursts of pictures with a D300 or similar DSLR.

I have about 16 4 GB and 8 GB cards from SanDisk, and often shoot more that 12,000 images in a weekend. SanDisk cards have been 100% reliable for me over the last 5 years. But the Extreme IV cards have been a big improvement for me because of noticeably faster record times during fast action, and very significantly improved download times IF YOU USE A FIREWIRE 800 CARD READER (2x faster than extreme III - it adds up, believe me).

If you like to take raw pictures and you plan on taking more than up to 500 at one time without any breaks, this is a great option for you. It's especially good since you don't have to relabel your pictures.

I can't confirm the write speed of RAW to the card. However, images appear on the LCD almost instantly and much quicker than with smaller (2 and 4 gig) Extreme III's and a 4 gig Lexar 133x.

I shoot only JPEG and I can get over 3000 images with my 8.2 mega pixel camera. When shooting high speed (5 fps) the SanDisk 8 GB Extreme IV Compact Flash Memory Card records them as fast as the camera dishes it out - doesn't slow up a bit. No more missed wildlife shoots for me. With 8 GB, I can shoot all day and tomorrow too.

Present camera, Nikon D2X, using compact flash.
I use three, Extreme III, 4GB and just added an
Extreme IV, 8GB. 8GB is the max size for my D2X. I'm shooting several sports,indoor and outdoor church events,some nature and portrait. RAW+JPEG, 200 to
500 images a week. Sandisk performs perfectly. Shooting at a max of 8 frames a second, I have not stalled with the Extreme IV.
Adarama has always had the best prices. Sandisk
always has the best product.I will buy one more 8GB for my present work.
