This is the only wide angle lens that I own. I seldom use the lens. But, when the occasion arises and I need it, the lens performs great. I know that the f4 is a little slow for a lot of people but it has never been a problem for me. As far as having been "rebuilt", I have four other Canon lens that I purchased new from Adorama and this one has performed like the new ones.

Just what i was looking for!

I am using this lens on my canon D7 what a combo!This lens will also work on a full frame if I later upgrade.

This lens has an adequately level of sharpness for what I use it for (mostly landscapes).

I also have a 24-70mm zoom. The 24-70mm is sharper, but attaching filters cause vignetting at 24mm.

With the 17-40mm lens, I can attach a filter and go to about 20mm before vignetting becomse visible.

Good lens, however the focus is not as sharp as expected for an "L" lens. Good walk around lens for an XTI or other 1.6 sensor cameras.

This is a great lenes to use with a 1.6 crop camera to achive a 28mm view. Also cover a FF camera body well such as the 5D for that super wide angle look.
