I use it for almost everything. It's quiet, cheap and quality is above of what you paid for, so it's a really decent choice to go for if your budget is a sensitive issue. You won't regret it.

Light, Fast AF and consistent output.

This is a nice entry level lens. If you are just pirchasing a DSLR I'd highly recommend starting out with this lens. It's image quality is pretty good, the AF is reasonably good (in good light) and it's lilght weight.

This lens is nicely priced. It is actually my most used lens, being great for everyday moments. It has a great zoom range for the cost. My only gripe is that it isn't sealed like an L series lens, and can get dust inside.
