Comments about Canon Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM AutoFocus Wide Angle Lens - USA:

I purchased this lense to shoot my 6months old daugther and this lense never dissapoint me. This lense has very fast focus which is crucial feature shooing a baby and works very well in little light condition. Especially person who has 50mm 1.8f this lense will give you double viewing angle. (which is very good for shooing at restaruent (cafe) or any indoor).

Comments about Canon Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM AutoFocus Wide Angle Lens - USA:

I regrettably sold my 28mm f/1.8 when I upgraded from my Canon 550D. When I got my 7D, I purchased the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 due to all the 'hype'. I wasn't satisfied (after having Sigma calibrate lens) and returned the lens.

I then purchased a second 28mm f/1.8 to use on my Canon 7D. This lens is just perfect on 1.6x crop bodies (gives around a 45mm FOV). If you find the 50mm too long on a crop, then this is the lens you need!

The lens is well-built and focusses fast. It is a great low-light lens and gives excellent results using natural lighting. I also like using this lens when shooting video on my 7D.

Comments about Canon Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM AutoFocus Wide Angle Lens - USA:

I purchased lens to use for theater photography and sports photography under artificial light.

Auto-focusing is much faster in low light than was the zoom lenses I had been using. Some pictures were shot into stage lights with minimal or no flare. Sharpness was excellent at maximum aperture.

I liked the lens so much that I bought the Canon 85mm f/1.8 to use in combination with it. The two together are an excellent combination.

Comments about Canon Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM AutoFocus Wide Angle Lens - USA:

I bought the 28mm f/1.8 to replace a 50mm f/1.8 I had bought previously. I found the 50mm to be too zoomed in with my 1.6 crop T2i EOS camera. The 28mm produces pictures that very accurately represent what I see - even in low light. I still use one of the slower zooms when lighting is good but the 28mm has been great when the lighting poor.

The only thing that would make this lens better is if it had IS!

Comments about Canon Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM AutoFocus Wide Angle Lens - USA:

I use this as my only wide angle lens on a full-frame camera. It's the widest I can go without distortion. It performs consistently well, much better than 28 on a 24-70L, and is a welcome addition to my lens lineup.

Comments about Canon Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM AutoFocus Wide Angle Lens - USA:

So far, I really like this lens, but I have only used it a couple of times. I love the how lightweight is. My only complaint is I purchased a Tiffen UV lens filter and now the original lens cap doesn't fit. I have Tiffen filters on a couple of my other lenses and the original lens cap still fit fine.

Comments about Canon Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM AutoFocus Wide Angle Lens - USA:

I bought this lens to round out my wideangle needs with a wide aperture. For casual and documentary use I carry a f1.4/50mm and a f2/100mm with my 5D, and this f1.8/28mm is providing a perfect complement to this. I already have a 20-35mm that is too slow, and a 28-105mm that is equally too slow. I'm coming around to appreciating the sharp focus of prime lenses, such as this 28mm. I use it for portraits, scenery, low-light shooting and it works great. I also bought the lensshade for it, I think it should come bundled with the lens, actually, hence 4 stars, not 5.

Comments about Canon Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM AutoFocus Wide Angle Lens - USA:

This is a very nice lens, and on a 1.6 FOV crop body (e.g. Digital Rebel XT, 20D, etc.) it works out to about a 45mm, which is a nice normal lens.

It's not razor sharp wide open, but not many lenses are, and it compares favorably to my 50mm 1.8 in terms of image quality at full aperture. In terms of build quality, focus speed, and focusing noise it is miles better though. It also seems to be built very well, and feels solid but not too heavy.

Overall I am happy with its handling performance and its image quality in normal or low light. It hasn't blown my mind in any areas, but it is very good and pretty much what I expected for a high-grade but non-L-series Canon lens.

Comments about Canon Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM AutoFocus Wide Angle Lens - USA:

It works perfectly in any situation!
It's light and Blight!
But if you need wide shot and you don't have 5D, you have to buy another lens.
It's good for just close object!
