I expected to use this lens strictly for macro work. I was nicely surprised that this lens is truly multipurpose. Great in low light, excellent in macro work and really great in portrait photography. I love it!

This is an excellent quality macro lens and it is also pretty good for other uses so I don't always have to change lenses when I am not taking macro shots. It is loaded with features so I cannot think of anything more I would want it to do.

I use it mostly for wildflower photos and the large clear photos also help with flower ID.

Just great lens for macro and portraits. Light and crisp. I'd prefer this lens to Canon 50 mm lens because of it's macro capability and 96 mm (at 1.6 Canon crop) focus distance for portraits.

I love this lens!! The pictures come out crystal clear and are sharp; makes great for portraits w/ a nice blur in the background.

I love the ability to get super close when I want to shoot macro - unfortently it is not a "true" macro, however it allows me to get close to the subject, and w/ the USM it is very quite, so it will not distured or scare away the subject. Also the background blur is wonderful on macro.

Great price for a great lens.
