I like to use this lens for surf photography. Excellent weight with IS when you are climbing over the jetty rocks!!
Consistent beautiful pictures. Tack sharp
Not that fast at sunset..but than again it is not an F/2.8 and I knew that going in...

Had f4 70-200, not impressed with sharpness. Traded for this lens, v. quick focus, ext sharp at f 5.6 and better, great light backpacking lens, usual "L" features. Great color, contrast. Cons: because of construction and color, too conspicuous for wedding photography, or street candids.
